For those of you who have followed the Cogniom journey from the early days will know the story of Granny B - Robert Buehrig 's beloved grandmother who inspired the inception of Cogniom.
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Mary Ellis Buehrig passed away peacefully in her home in Florida on Friday 9th September.
It doesn't take long to realise what a strong and inspirational woman Granny B was. You simply have to watch the faces of her family light up whenever they speak of her to know the impact she had on her family.
Even more than that Mary Ellis was a trailblazing woman in the workforce (whether she realised it or not!). During the war she entered the workforce cracking eggs at a powdered egg factory, and served as a torpedo detonator inspector! While raising her family she became a bookkeeper and later in life became a Registered Nurse Practitioner where she continued to work until she was 80!
She loved to travel was an avid swing dancer and had a wicked sense of humour. She often voiced this philosophy about life:
With 7 siblings, 6 children, 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren her legacy will live on for a very long time.
Rest in peace Granny B. You will be sorely missed x
