✨ Today we get to celebrate two very special birthdays. Our lovely Dr Leticia - Chiro (age not disclosed, of course 😉) and our sweet Dogtor Bailey turning 2! 💙🐾

Dr Leticia is sunshine in human form ☀️always bringing warmth, care, and positivity to everyone she meets. We are so grateful she’s part of our Glow family and for the way she brightens the clinic every single day. 💛

And of course, our beloved Bailey boy! Although he hasn’t been around the clinic as much lately (he’s been very busy looking after Mum and baby Dom 💕), he can’t wait to be back giving cuddles, tail wags, and love to everyone soon.

We’re so lucky to have both of these souls as part of our Glow fam 💛💙💛

🎈 Glow Health Co is officially 5 🎈

Our actual birthday was back on the 21st of September, but life has been so full on behind the scenes that we didn’t even get the chance to organise balloons or a celebration this year 😅

But we didn’t want to let the moment pass without saying a huge THANK YOU 💛 To every single person who has walked through our doors, referred a friend, liked or shared a post, or simply cheered us on, we are so, so grateful. You’re the reason we get to keep doing what we love.

A special shout out to our incredible team, past and present, who pour so much love and energy into Glow. Running a small business isn’t always easy, but with such amazing people around us, it makes every bit of it worth it. ⭐️

Here’s to the last 5 years of growth, learning, and connection, and to many years ahead.

Love,

G & T

We are so excited to welcome Jake to our team 💛💙 He joins us as a Remedial Massage Therapist and is currently completing his Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy 🎓🙌

Here’s a little about Jake 👇

I’m a Remedial Massage Therapist and currently completing my Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.

As a former tradesperson 🛠️, I know first-hand how everyday aches and injuries can get in the way of the activities you enjoy. That’s why I take a treatment approach focused on your daily life and movement, tailoring each session to your routines, goals, and challenges.

I work with active clients 🏋️‍♂️, people managing workplace strain 💻, and anyone dealing with aches, pains, or movement restrictions. I use a combination of neuromuscular techniques and dry needling for pain management, myofascial release and joint mobilisations to improve mobility and function, as well as tailored corrective exercise programs 🏃‍♂️ for long-term solutions. My focus is on helping you feel better both in the moment and for the long term.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find me in the surf 🌊, snow ❄️, pool 🏊‍♂️, or gym 🏋️. I’m looking forward to helping the community move, feel, and live better.

Jake officially starts at the Capalaba Clinic next week! ⭐️

Online bookings are now open, or if you prefer you can call one of our friendly receptionists to help you.

When assessing a baby for the first time, our chiropractors begin by simply observing. Subtle cues can offer important insight.

Here’s what they often look for and what parents can notice at home:
⭐️Are the eyes symmetrical in size and shape, or is one smaller? 👀
⭐️Are the ears level? Is one further forward or sticking out more? 👂🏻
⭐️Is the nose and chin aligned with the centre of the face?
⭐️Is the mouth open or closed when at rest?
⭐️Is the chin recessed back?
⭐️Is the head tilted to one side? 👶🏻
⭐️Does baby have a rotational preference (turns head one way more)?
⭐️Is baby banana curved off to one side 🍌
⭐️Is one hip hiked up, especially on the same side as a head tilt?
⭐️Is one arm not moving as much as the other?
⭐️Are there any flat spots on the skull?
⭐️Is the small ‘dimple’ outside the eyes symmetrical on both sides?
⭐️Are the legs the same length? 🦵🏻
And the list goes on and on….

These signs can suggest things like cranial strain patterns or compensations such as torticollis. They’re helpful for chiropractors to assess and useful for parents to keep in mind when observing their baby.

Take a look at Georgia’s baby as a newborn and see how many compensations you can see 😅. List them in the comments and we will see how you go! 🤓

✨ Whether you’re a parent or caregiver, your observations are incredibly valuable. If you’ve noticed any of the above, Dr Jess (Chiro) & Dr Leticia (Chiro) are here to help and assess with care. 💛

A gentle reminder from our team ✨

We need to say something that isn’t easy to talk about… but it’s important.

Lately, we’ve been experiencing a growing number of no-shows and last-minute cancellations.

Every time someone cancels at the last minute or doesn’t show up, that spot, your spot, sits empty. That means someone else in need misses out on care. And for our team, it’s time and energy we’ve set aside just for you, because we genuinely care.

We’ve also had some tough moments lately where clients have gotten upset when we’ve had to charge our late cancellation and no-show fees. Please know, we hate charging fees. But those policies are in place because we’re a small business trying to keep our doors open, pay our staff fairly, and continue showing up every day with care, positivity, and purpose.

We try our best to avoid these situations by sending:
✨ A confirmation email when you book
✨ A reminder email and text 2 days before your appointment

This isn’t about punishment. It’s about sustainability. We are so proud of the care we give and the community we serve, but when we’re met with disrespect or disappointment over something we’ve put in place to remain being able to give optimal care, it’s hard.

Running a small business is not easy. But we wouldn’t trade it for anything, because we truly love what we do. We just ask for the same respect, care, and kindness in return. 💛

Thank you to those who continue to support us, honour their bookings, and see the heart behind our work. It means the world.

With love,

The Glow Health Co. Team ⭐️

🤰 Breech Presentation & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Gentle support for you and your baby in late pregnancy 🌿

What is breech?
A breech presentation is when baby is positioned bottom-down instead of head-down.
This is common earlier on, but by the final weeks, most babies turn head-down naturally.

How TCM understands breech:
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, pregnancy is seen as a time when energy (Qi) should flow freely and the body should stay in balance.
When this balance is supported, there may be more ease and space for baby to move.

What does TCM offer?
✨ Acupuncture – fine needles placed at points based on your unique needs.
🔥 Moxibustion – gently warming a point on the little toe (BL67) with a herbal stick (moxa) to encourage movement.

This is traditionally done once or twice a day over several days. It can be done in a clinic, or shown to you for safe use at home.

What does the research say?
Some studies suggest acupuncture and moxibustion may help with breech presentation, but results are mixed and more research is needed.

Important to know:
✅ These treatments are gentle and tailored to you.
❌ They are not a replacement for medical care.
👩‍⚕️ Always speak with your midwife, GP, or obstetrician before considering any complementary therapy.

At Glow Health Co, we are fortunate to have the amazing Dr Angela at Capalaba and Dr Elisa at Ascot to help you on your pregnancy journey.

Meet our amazing new Chiropractor to join the Glow Health Co team ⭐️

I am a Sports Chiropractor and an Academic, currently lecturing at CQUniversity in Brisbane.
I grew up in Melbourne and was lucky enough to come from a family of allied health and medical professionals, which inspired me to pursue this career!

I studied at RMIT University, graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Chiropractic) and a Masters of Clinical Chiropractic, and completed extra study and training in sports medicine including a Masters in Strength and Human Performance through Parker University (USA), and the International Certification in Sports Chiropractic. 👩‍🎓

The first ten years of my career were spent working alongside my family in our clinics in metropolitan Melbourne and rural Victoria. Later, I was offered a role at Murdoch University which saw my husband and I move to Perth for several years. Now I am excited to be back on the east coast, in Brisbane, and working with the team at Glow Health Co.! 💙

My broad professional and clinical portfolio as a Fellow of Sports and Exercise Chiropractic includes working with elite athletes, celebrities and teams at events around Australia and overseas. In particular, I have worked for many years in soccer, netball, and ice hockey. ⚽️

My passion is for anything regarding injury prevention, injury management and optimising athletic performance as well as improving health outcomes 💪🏻.

In private practice, as on the sporting field, I enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to deliver optimal patient-centred evidence-based care to patients from all walks of life.

Behind the scenes, I am fluent in Italian which I speak at home, and I love good food 🤌, travelling and anything that involves the sunshine or a beach!
I am really looking forward to meeting and working with you and the community at Ascot!

✨Dr Chiara is now available for bookings and her first day is next Wednesday!

Massage & Chiropractic: A Perfect Match for Your Body
Your body is made up of many interconnected systems, including the musculoskeletal system which comprises of a combination of muscles, tendons, soft tissues, and bones that all work together to keep you moving well. That’s why integrating both chiropractic care and massage therapy into your routine can make a big impact on your overall mobility and function.

Both professions are designed to support the body’s natural healing processes, improving alignment, relieving tension, and enhancing movement. While you can absolutely benefit from each therapy on its own, combining them often leads to even better outcomes.

Chiropractic and massage each bring something unique to the table. Whether used together or separately, they’re both powerful tools for improving your health and wellbeing.

At Glow Health Co, we love having both of these services in house so that the practitioners can work together to get the best results for the patient.

One of the most useful pieces of information for people to understand is the “triangle of health”. This framework encompasses the physical, chemical and emotional aspects of life, which when in perfect balance with each other, constitutes optimal health and wellness.

🏃🏼‍♀️Structural / Physical – involves our movements and activity including walking, working, playing sports and the gym. It includes our falls, knocks and accidents and perhaps most apparent to us here in the practice, it includes the alignment and efficiency of the spine and nervous system. It relates to the importance of maintaining integrity of body balance and physical functionality. Maintaining this physical health means not just avoiding freak accidents such as motor vehicle or sporting injuries. It also includes awareness about the subtle, and sometimes more sinister, repetitive strain injuries such as postural strain from work. These types of injuries could be caused by prolonged sitting at a desk, or repetitive motions in labour intensive jobs such as painting, tiling etc.

Think about how you are spending most of your time throughout the week and review the intensity of physical movement you apply to your body. Is it too little or too much?

🍎Nutritional / Chemical – relates to the importance of fueling the body with correct nutrients and with protecting the body from toxic substances. Anything we put into our body has an effect on our chemical health. Think of our body as an engine, the fuel you feed it determines how well it will run.

🙂😔Emotional / Mental – relates to the inseparable mind-body connection. We might have found the right balance of exercise and healthy eating but if we are amidst relationship / work stressors, then this can have a major effect on our mental health.

These are the three sides of the health triangle. If any one of them is not balanced, it can directly impact the remaining sides of the triangle. We may never quite find the perfect balance, but try to take some time to assess your current situation and ask yourself, am I living a balanced life? 🙏💁‍♀️
