It's important for mental health professionals to seek to problem solve together with people who consult them. This is important because mental health professionals have practice wisdom and theoretical knowledge to bring to the table. And people who consult us to help overcome challenges are the experts in their own life and the life of their family. Working in partnership can built human relationships and may even help to resolve issues facing people living with mental health, alcohol and other drug problems.
