Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 π
In April this year Mitch and I will again be providing medical and mechanical support (Team βMedical 1β) to the Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 - a Cancer Council fundraising event https://www.sh*tboxrally.com.au/the-cause . As of this newsletter, this rally alone has raised just shy of $1.5 million and Box Rallies in total have raised over $43 million in funding that goes directly to fund cancer research projects.
Weβll be helping support approximately 250 βSh*tboxesβ (cars costing less than $1500.00) travelling from Adelaide to Perth via outback roads (Roxby Downs, Uluru and the Great Central Highway ... Australia's Longest "Short-Cut"), a distance of around 4000k β¦ about 80% of which is dirt roads.
This year, just to spice things up, the US Ambassador to Australia will be joining the rally ... it's a bit of a giggle how she came to get involved - Caroline Kennedy joins Sunrise for an exclusive interview | 7NEWS. https://tlccqld.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=5d08031139fcd00c9b30e5768&id=c53094c5d6&e=71c5aee319
We consider it a good enough cause to donate 2 weeks of our time each year (3 weeks this time due to the distances involved) to support these guys. If you felt the urge to donate (any amount) we would be very grateful.
Please donβt feel obligated, but if you do wish to contribute either use this link https://tlccqld.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=5d08031139fcd00c9b30e5768&id=9d9410a122&e=71c5aee319 Medical 1 (sh*tboxrally.com.au), the QR code in the PDF at the clinic, or select any one of the teams from https://www.sh*tboxrally.com.au/teams/ to support. (We do have favourites β¦ Air Support 21 are mates of ours β Air Support are at every rally getting (and keeping) the tyres sorted on the participants cars, βTwo for the Roadβ (Scott Counsell & Leona Counsell) who introduced us to the cause, and βGone Viralβ who are friends we made on our first rally).
Cheers,
Kym and Mitch
The 2024 Sh*tbox Rally teams will be driving their Sh*tboxes across Australia to raise money for cancer research. How much have our teams raised?
