Yesterday we crossed the Sh*tbox Rally finish line for Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 - START LINE. It’s been a full on adventure. Fortunately our service as Medical support has not been for anything serious. The support team are a very well organised crew thanks to our fearless leader Michael Ryan.

The teams worked through all sorts of challenges from flat tyres to major mechanical failures and an occasional group dynamic issue.

Nobody gave up and I commend them on their endurance.

Ambassador Kennedy joined in and is now an official “ Sh*tboxer “ . How cool is that? 😁😁

We’re going to amble home via a couple of 4x4 roads and catch up on some zzz 💤.

We would suggest. if you have an urgent issue, to call or drop in to one of the Urgent Care Clinics. There is one in Browns Plains: https://www.forhealthbrownsplains.com.au/urgent-care-clinic/

Or we use Hello Home Doctor Service and 13SICK https://13sick.com.au/. If you have a Medicare card, they will bulk bill a visit to your home. They begin visits from 5pm.

If in doubt, call the clinic and nurses can advise the best course of action for you. 😊

If it is a non-urgent issue, we can put you on a cancellation list, and we will call if an appointment becomes available.

Just about to break the fundraising record to date.
The registration crowd are all revved up and ready.
Med 1 are also revved up, dressed up and ready. Our special passenger “ Dick” is watching from the bonnet.

The treck to Adelaide has been fun. We’ve driven through flood water over the road near Dalby (only after we watched a Kluger drive the other way), driven hours to avoid flooding and seen some great sights. The Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 - START LINE is the goal. This rally as with all of them, is to raise funds for the cancer council. Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 🚑

In April this year Mitch and I will again be providing medical and mechanical support (Team “Medical 1”) to the Sh*tbox Rally Autumn 2024 - a Cancer Council fundraising event https://www.sh*tboxrally.com.au/the-cause . As of this newsletter, this rally alone has raised just shy of $1.5 million and Box Rallies in total have raised over $43 million in funding that goes directly to fund cancer research projects.

We’ll be helping support approximately 250 “Sh*tboxes” (cars costing less than $1500.00) travelling from Adelaide to Perth via outback roads (Roxby Downs, Uluru and the Great Central Highway ... Australia's Longest "Short-Cut"), a distance of around 4000k … about 80% of which is dirt roads.

We have lots of stock of the Moderna XBB Covid vaccines at the clinic. If you are due for a booster, give us a call and we can book you in to chat with your GP about your eligibility. 💉

Reminder - boosters cannot be given within 6 months of a Covid infection. 🦠

Hello KSM patients!

On Friday 9/2/24, our air-conditioning system will be replaced.

We have made the decision to close the clinic to patients, as there will be a lot of mess and noise in the clinic and possible power outages.

Dr Kellen will be doing telehealth from home, so we will have some limited appointments available on Friday.

If you have an appointment booked for Friday, our staff will be making phone calls today to talk to you.

Thank you for your understanding. We are looking forward to feeling cool again!! 🥶
