Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) has been saving lives in regional, rural and remote communities for 96 years.

In addition to aeromedical retrievals, the RFDS also delivers essential primary and preventative healthcare services. Established in Queensland in 1928 by the Reverend John Flynn, the RFDS has grown to become the world’s largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisation. Today the RFDS delivers more than 370,000 episodes of patient care across Australia every year – equivalent to assisting someone every two minutes. In Queensland, the RFDS provides healthcare services over an area of 1.73 million square kilometres from nine strategically located bases in Cairns, Townsville, Mount Isa, Charleville, Longreach, Roma, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Brisbane. These services are delivered via a fleet of 20 medically equipped aeromedical aircraft. And with some of the world’s most highly trained and skilled aviation and medical staff, the RFDS is incredibly well positioned to uphold our promise to deliver the finest care to the furthest corner of the state.

If you're feeling like you need some support this festive season:
📞Reach out to someone — a friend, family member or neighbour.
🗣️Talk to your GP, the RFDS mental health team, or another support provider.
🧘‍♂️Make space for activities that lift you up and connect you with others.

While some services may pause over the holidays, support is always available. 💙

Contact Lifeline or 13Yarn 24/7 or headspace will be available to help young people aged 15-25 between 3:00pm - 10:00pm each day.
