🧡 Why Your Body Loves Vitamin C 🧡
As a nutritionist, I often get asked, “Do I really need vitamin C every day?”

The answer: YES, and often more than once a day!
Here’s why 👇

🔸 What Vitamin C Does in the Body:
✔️ Boosts immune function (helps white blood cells fight off infection)
✔️ Acts as a powerful antioxidant (protects your cells from damage)
✔️ Essential for collagen production (hello healthy skin, joints & blood vessels!)
✔️ Improves iron absorption (especially from plant-based foods)
✔️ Supports brain health + neurotransmitter production
✔️ Reduces inflammation & oxidative stress

🔁 Why You Need It More Than Once a Day:

Vitamin C is water-soluble, meaning your body doesn’t store it.
👉 It gets used up quickly and is flushed out in urine.
To keep levels stable, aim to split your intake across 2–3 doses a day rather than all at once.

🕒 Example:
Take with meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – especially when sick, stressed, or healing from injury.

✨ Pro tip: Pair vitamin C with iron-rich foods to boost absorption.
🥦🍓🍋 Natural sources include citrus, kiwi, berries, capsicum, and broccoli.

This post actually came about due to a personal concern. Once again the medical system has let me down so I decided to do my own research and this is what I learnt about this amazing supplement👇🏼

Let me introduce you to a supplement I often see used in integrative health, NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) 🌿

It’s a form of the amino acid cysteine that supports the body’s natural production of glutathione, one of our most powerful antioxidants.

Here’s how NAC is commonly used:

💥 Supports liver detoxification and may help reduce GGT
✨ Helps reduce oxidative stress, which can interfere with energy, iron absorption, and cell health
🩸 Often used when iron is low and the body needs extra support
🧖‍♀️ Linked to improved hair health, especially when shedding is related to stress or nutrient depletion
💪 Popular among active people to support recovery and cellular health

If you’ve had bloods showing low iron, sluggish energy, or elevated liver enzymes, NAC may be worth exploring further.

🧠 Always speak with a qualified health practitioner before starting a new supplement, especially if you’re managing a health condition or taking medication.

Drop a 💛 if you’ve used NAC or let me know how it has made a changer for you!

I’ll be starting this supplement first thing Monday morning. It takes roughly 3 months to notice a change🙏🏼
