🍎 RED APPLE DAY 🍎
Bowel Cancer Australia's Annual Giving Day

Red Apple Day is Bowel Cancer Australia's Annual Giving Day, when Australians are encouraged to support the vital work of the charity.

If you've ever thought about raising funds and awareness for bowel cancer, then Red Apple Day is the time to get to it!

The outline of Bowel Cancer Australia's apple logo represents an abstract of a human bowel. The small hole in the apple is caused by a worm. If detected early and removed, the worm is unable to continue affecting the apple or the health of the tree.

It's the same outcome for people. If bowel cancer is detected early it can be successfully treated, which means patients and their families can continue to enjoy a healthy life.

BOWEL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month - Bowel Cancer Australia's signature event to raise awareness of Australia's second deadliest cancer.

Bowel cancer claims the lives of 103 Australians every week (5,350 people a year) - but it's one of the most treatable types of cancer when detected early.

While the risk of bowel cancer increases significantly with age, the disease doesn't discriminate, affecting people of all ages.

299 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer this week (15,531 people a year).

Click the link below to find out more information on how you can support Bowel Cancer Awareness Month 💚🍎

Bowel Cancer Australia is the leading community-funded charity dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, research, quality treatment and care for everyone affected by bowel cancer (also known as colorectal cancer).

You only need to collect two poo samples for the bowel screening test! ✌️

Free bowel screening test kits are sent to people aged 50-74, every two years. The kits contain everything you need to do the test in the privacy of your own home. Set yourself a reminder (or two) and make it a priority.

Make sure you collect your samples from two separate poos. Collect them on separate days but as close together as you can, and then put them in the mail using the reply-paid envelope in the kit.

You don't need to touch the poo directly and most people find the process much easier and cleaner than they expected. ✅

Early detection is key when it comes to bowel cancer, and this simple test could save your life.

If you're aged between 50-74 and haven't received your kit as expected, call the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program on 1800 627 701. 📞
