Here is another great product for people with upper limb or hand injuries/deficits, hand weakness, or amputations who might find this useful. There are still some areas of this product that may still be a bit tricky to navigate, but it's a good start!

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations Day observed on 3 December each year to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.

There are 5.5 million people with disability in Australia – that’s one in five people. By acknowledging this important day, we can take action and contribute to positive change at work and beyond.

Workplaces play a key role in ensuring people with disability can participate in all aspects of community life.

We encourage everyone to get involved this IDPwD. Together we can challenge perceptions about disability, remove barriers, and promote inclusive and respectful attitudes and behaviours in our community.

We came across these amazing little buckets on the weekend!

What an amazing piece of AT!! Absolutely perfect for people of any age, but particularly great for new mums and elderly people with limited grip strength or with arthritis. The inner strainer just lifts out of the bucket to sit on the lip of the outer bucket and drain, reducing the need to lift heavy wet items out of the bucket, or reducing the need to lift a heavy bucket full of water out of the sink or off the bench.

From an OT's perspective, they are a great design and I will be highly recommending them to future clients. They also come in a number of different sizes, so can also be used in the kitchen for washing vegetables.

What's even better, is they were designed and created by a local mum on the Sunshine Coast.

Wow, how cool is this! Unsure how much it would cost to have these installed everywhere, since it seems hard enough to even get enough accessible toilets as it is, but this is genius!
