This is

She came to me suffering from knee pain due to sub optimal rehab after meniscus surgery.

FIRST we reduced the pain by massaging the muscles around the knee.

SECOND we strengthened the quad in its new found range of motion.

THIRD we worked on balance In combination with strengthening the hip and ankle.

Fun fact: the knee will do what the hip and ankle tell it 😀

(This photo makes me smile because she had no idea what to do in front of the camera)

With the 4th birthday charity event tomorrow I thought I would touch on some of the values of (the charity tomorrow is all about)

A charity all about delivering programs to schools and workplaces to encourage discussion around mental health.

The role Dawn has played in my life, let alone all our amazing members is embodied in these values.

1. Family First Community

If you are part of the Dawn family you probably see your friends 4,5 maybe 6 times a week. Coaches look out for you, other members celebrate you and always make sure they are there to make your workout great, even if the rest of the day was less than!

2.

"We look after ourselves as we encourage others to do the same through self-care and speaking up."

"to help people to become better versions of themselves."

Dawn has always Encouraged its clients and coaches to get the best out of themselves by prioritising their 1 hour day to let loose and give it their all. Dawn is their for all the challenges workouts and the rest of life can throw at us.

3. Keeping it Real

"We operate in a serious and sensitive space, but we do it in a way where we stay true to ourselves.

We know when to have fun, we know when to laugh but we also know when to be serious and professional.

Our culture may be casual and easy going, but as new ideas emerge, they are shared, tested and put into practice. Evidence and expertise guides all that we do, without compromising."

I'm not going to lie with this last bit... the whole paragraph was taken from the LIVIN website because nothing makes Dawn better to work for and train at then that right there!

See you in the morning folks!

The only thing growing faster than Leon's confidence in the gym, his arms!

Leon is an NDIS participant who came to me with the goal of improving his overall strength.

No chinups has become 7 ✅

8kg bench press has become 15kg ✅

From a can't do attitude to attacking workouts!

He came to improve the gun show and he stayed for the boost in self confidence.

Feet Elevated Glute Bridge
➡️➡️ Swipe for more

Matt came to me to develop is lower body in the hope that he could manage his meniscus/ general knee pain.

Glute Focus 🍑

On the top of both images the Greater bend in the knees and the hips closer to the bench places the emphasis on the glutes.

Hamstring Focus 🍖

When the hips are further from the bench and the knees are less bent, a greater stretch is placed on the hamstrings, it feels much different.

Give it a go!

🤩DO THIS!!! 🤩

If you have a tight lower back, you may find it difficult to get full extension in the deadlift! ☝️

The crucifix twist is a great way to stretch out your lower back BEFORE a deadlift 😉

Hold the movement for 30 sec each side, aiming to keep your shoulders flat against the ground as you twist!

To step up, FIRST you must step down..

What does this mean? 🤔

For over 6 weeks now we've been coaching a client to keep tension through ALL ranges of a step down to help build single leg strength and stability.🙌

Once our client mastered this, we PROGRESSED to step ups where they were able to maintain technqiue as they drove out of the bottom of the step up!🤗

Try these three things if your grip is giving you trouble with your workouts or day-to-day activities! 🤝

😯1. Forearm rollout
*Roll your forearm along the end of a barbell and softly push into the bar as you roll. Try and go from your wrist all the way to your elbow.
😛2. Wrist opener
*start directly underneath your shoulders, then slowly pull yourself forward keeping your wrists flat into the ground, and lean into it as much as you can.
😇3. Self myo-fascial release
*pinch the meaty part of your muscle in between your hand and pointing finger and hold for 20 seconds, repeat on both hands!

Fullbody workouts in the gym instead of upper and lower splits may help balance out the load during your preseason training!

If the weekly volume is equal, muscle growth should be the same 💪
