Hey parents, behaviour is communication.

Before we jump to consequences or rewards, let’s pause and ask: What’s really going on underneath? Meltdowns, shutdowns, defiance—they’re not problems to fix. They’re signals that your child is struggling and needs support.

And when we respond with curiosity and connection, we give them exactly what they need to grow.

Want help decoding behaviour in your home? You’re in the right place.

If you’re waiting until you’re fully ready… You might be waiting forever.

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to feel like this—the chaos, the conflict, the confusion—can’t be your forever.

Start where you are. And let me walk beside you from there.

This year, I was honoured to receive the Silver Award in the Children's Wellness and Wellbeing category at the 2025 AusMumpreneur Awards. It’s a privilege to be recognised alongside so many passionate women creating positive change for families and communities.

This award reflects the heart of my work—supporting children, empowering parents, and helping early-career psychologists grow in confidence.

This win isn’t just mine—it belongs to every family and professional I’ve walked alongside. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey.

Hi psychs,

This week, I adapted a cognitive assessment for a 14-year-old autistic client—and we built the whole thing inside a treehouse.

She loves the 13-Storey Treehouse books, so each part of our session became a new “level” in her treehouse adventure. Tasks were visual, supports were familiar, and she could ask for what she needed along the way.

The goal wasn’t to water anything down. It was to make the space safe enough for her strengths to show up.

Assessments can be affirming. We just need to get creative.

👇 How have you adapted assessments for your neurodivergent clients?

I'm very proud of my husband who is part of this great initiative - travelling to rural areas to see children who couldn't see a Paediatrician otherwise. Here's to ALL kids and families getting the care and support they need.

When things get loud, intense, or chaotic—try going softer, not harder.

Your child’s behaviour isn’t about control. It’s about stress. Fear. Overwhelm.

And what helps isn’t more words or stronger consequences. It’s presence. It’s quiet safety. It’s saying, “You’re not in trouble. You’re not alone.”

When escalation rises, let your words bring everyone back down.

Ever wonder why your child refuses to get ready in the morning? 🤔

It’s easy to see it as defiance… but often there’s more beneath the surface. Anxiety, sensory overwhelm, or the stress of a busy morning can all show up as “misbehaviour.”

Behaviour is communication. When we understand what our children are really telling us, we can respond with empathy instead of frustration.

Swipe through to see what might be going on—and follow for tools to decode the behaviour and support your child. ✨

Hi psychs,

This month in our supervision membership, we're getting hands-on with telehealth—specifically, what actually works with kids and teens.

We’re covering:

How to make Zoom sessions engaging
What works for younger clients vs. teens
Real examples from practice (and what didn’t go to plan)

If you’ve ever ended a session wondering “Did that land at all?”, you’re not alone.

This space is about strategies and support—for your clients, and for you.

What’s your go-to online engagement trick?

Tried sticker charts? Time-outs? Ignoring behaviour?

If none of it worked, it’s not because you’re doing it wrong. It’s because most approaches don’t address what your child is really communicating. Chaos to Calm doesn’t just offer more tactics.

It gives you insight into why your child behaves the way they do—and what actually helps. Because when you focus on connection and regulation, not just correction, everything changes.

Hey parents, ever wonder why your child reacts so intensely to small things?

That’s where self-regulation comes in. It’s the brain’s ability to pause, process, and respond—rather than react. For neurodivergent kids, those self-regulation “brakes” are still developing. They need more support, not stricter rules.

Meltdowns and big reactions aren’t misbehaviour—they’re signs of a nervous system that’s overwhelmed. With co-regulation and gentle, consistent support, your child can build these skills over time.

If you’re looking for ways to bring more calm into your home, I’ve got you.
