A new chapter begins for The Peak.

We are proud to carry forward the strong legacy built by Rod Alne, the founder of The Peak. A retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and Pararescueman with over 27 years of service, including one of the first deployments to Afghanistan. Rod
established The Peak here in Butte, Montana in 2005. He saw critical gaps in high-altitude and mountain warfare training and created a purpose-built facility to deliver real, hands-on skills to those who need them most.

Under new Australian veteran-owned leadership, we honour everything Rod has built over the past two decades and step into this next phase with a refreshed look, renewed energy, and a clear vision for the future.

We continue delivering the same high-quality high-risk training, leadership development, and mission-focused capability solutions for defence, government, emergency services, and industry partners. Our facilities in Butte remain the perfect environment for immersive, operationally relevant training in tough conditions.
This is only the beginning.

As part of the broader One Response network, we’re excited to expand our capability, build stronger partnerships, and grow a world-class training and response platform across the US, Australia, and beyond.

The team is at SOF Week in Tampa this week, so if you’re there come say g’day and connect with us!

Last night, three Marine Rescue NSW two volunteers lost their lives while responding to a vessel in distress off Ballina. They ran toward danger so someone else might be safe. Public Safety and Response Training Group acknowledges their courage and sends our deepest condolences to their families and the entire Marine Rescue community. 🙏

The search for potential survivors has been called off after three men, including two rescuers, died and four others were rescued when a rescue boat flipped while trying to assist a struggling yacht on the NSW North Coast.

• Check local drone rules at your destination

In the air:

⚠️ Cyclone Warning – Be Prepared, Not Reactive ⚠️

Residents across Far North Queensland are bracing as Tropical Cyclone Narelle approaches, with forecasts of winds up to 260 km/h and the potential to intensify into a Category 5 system before landfall on Friday.

At PSTR Group, we know that preparation is critical in high-risk environments. Severe weather events like this highlight the importance of training, planning, and rapid response capability.

If you’re in the affected areas:
• Secure your property early
• Review your emergency and evacuation plans
• Stay informed through official channels
• Prioritise safety over assets

Our thoughts are with all communities in the impact zone—stay safe and Get Ready Queensland.

Tropical Cyclone Narelle, currently a category 2 system, continues to intensify in the northern Coral Sea. It is expected to approach the far north-east Queensland coast between Lockhart River and Port Douglas and bring severe impacts to Far North Queensland.
