Meet Rachel - Now Taking Referrals!

Rachel is deeply passionate about supporting individuals navigating the NDIS and is committed to creating positive, meaningful outcomes for the people she works with.

Rachel began her NDIS journey in Plan Management before transitioning into Support Coordination, driven by a desire to work more closely with participants and provide empathy and compassion in every aspect of my work.

Rachel approaches the NDIS space with empathy and enthusiasm, recognising that each participantโ€™s journey is unique. She is dedicated to ensuring her clients feel heard, respected, and supported while working collaboratively to achieve outcomes that align with their goals, needs, and aspirations.

Her approach is person-centred, professional, and advocacy-focused. She is committed to ensuring every person with a disability has a voice and is actively involved in decisions that impact their life. Through clear communication, strong advocacy, and practical problem-solving, she works to identify and establish the most appropriate and effective supports to meet each participantโ€™s individual needs.

We're quiet on social media because we're busy working hard for our clients! If you're in need of a support coordination provider who are truly committed to great outcomes, transparent communications, client and family centre approach and keeping our ears to the ground to share real information then reach out today ๐Ÿฅณ

๐Ÿ’› Please consider signing this petition - our service is crucial to ensuring that people with complex disabilities and support needs are linked with critical supports to keep them safe. We offer essential supports to people who would otherwise be at risk of falling through the cracks, at risk of exploitation, or going without supports.

We love our work, we love our participants, and we are passionate about delivering a service which keeps the NDIA safe, sustainable and responsive to the needs of Australians with disabilities.๐Ÿ’›

Excerpt from the petition below:

Right now, quality support coordination providers are walking away โ€” not because they want to, but because they canโ€™t survive under current NDIS funding.

When they go, people with disability are left without the help they rely on. This isnโ€™t just bad policy. Itโ€™s dangerous.

The NDIA is failing in its duty of market stewardship, and in the care of its recipients more broadly. In presenting limited data to justify its decision to keep hourly rates for Support Coordinators the same for seven years, the NDIA has demonstrated is negligence towards an entire industry that it should be working alongside in good faith.

**Whatโ€™s Happening?**

Support coordination providers guide people with disability through the NDIS system, ensuring access to vital services. The governmentโ€™s refusal to raise hourly rates means many providers are no longer financially viable.

**Why It Matters**

Without support coordinators, people with complex needs will be left unsupported, and the entire NDIS system risks collapse.

It's been a busy year for us here at CulturalShift!
We've been working hard on quality improvement and have been so excited to promote Tori to a Team Leader role. Tori has been excelling in her new position, ensuring that every report is quality checked, and your Support Coordinators have mentoring, supervision and opportunities to debrief from those tricky moments. Don't be surprised to hear from Tori in coming months either, as she begins regular client check ins to ensure that we're hearing your compliments and feedback and continuing on our mission to offer the most exemplary Support Coordination service in South-East Queensland.

Behind the scenes I'm busy developing resources for every circumstance so that sticky situations can be resolved with higher efficiency and to ensure that our team can continue to grow, professionally and personally.

I'm so proud of where we started, how far we've come, and what's yet to transpire.

With thanks and a heart full of hope,

Ella.

Please share to help us to stay afloat and able to keep offering high quality support coordination ๐Ÿ™

We're seeing so many providers of quality support coordination closing their doors and their books because of the increasing wage pressures. In real terms including wages and overheads our costs have increased by a whopping 30% in the past 5 years without a single cent increase in the price guide or claimable work.

Here at CulturalShift we are still working to grow our team so that we can meet increasing desperate demand for high quality coordination, but we need your help in challenging this rate freeze so that we can invest in the futures of our valued clients ๐Ÿ’›

Letโ€™s be clear about NDIS Pricing:

๐Ÿ“‰ Prices are being cut in real terms for a 7th year in a row for Support Coordination and Plan Management.

โŒ NDIS is not passing on the Fair Work Commission wage increase.

๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ These changes were made behind closed doors. People with disability, their families, and the providers who support them were not consulted.

โ›” Critical supports are being devalued.

๐Ÿšซ Support Coordination and Plan Management Prices are not based on a cost model and are not benchmarked against like services in Aged Care, Workplace Accident Schemes and Vehicle Accident Schemes.

Support Coordinators and Plan Managers aren't optional โ€” they are essential. They support participants navigate an increasingly bureaucratic system, exercise their choice, amplify their voice, build capacity and ensure NDIS participants actually get the support they need.

We need transparency. We need fairness. We need a system that listens. We must

DIA urgently calls on the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme to do the right thing and take immediate action:

1๏ธโƒฃPass on the 3.5% wage and 0.5% superannuation increase to Support Coordination and Plan Management pricing immediately (from 1 July);

2๏ธโƒฃReverse the cuts to establishment fees and rural/remote loading for Plan Management services;

3๏ธโƒฃReverse the cuts to provider travel so that services can be delivered in community settings not just clinics;

4๏ธโƒฃImplement independent price setting. Only an independent pricing authority can set a transparent pricing model that accurately reflects the true cost of service delivery, including wage pressures, compliance costs, and the value of these services.

Over the weekend there will be a 36 hour outage for system changes to PACE. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธโณ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ

From Monday 19th funding periods will be operational. After this date, new plans can again be approved for durations longer than 12 months, as funding periods will be switched on. โœ…๏ธ๐Ÿ“…๐Ÿš€

New Funding periods will come into effect for new plans approved from this date - not for existing PACE plans. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐Ÿ†•๏ธ๐Ÿ’ก

Whilst the NDIS can choose different funding period durations for individual plans, the default funding periods will be 3 months (quarters), and Home and Living funding periods would be 1 monthly (12 periods in a year). ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ *important claiming info* ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ

If a category has insufficient funds available in a funding period to cover an invoice/claim, the entire claim will be rejected. ๐ŸšซโŒโ—

If services / an invoice or claim crosses over two funding periods, you cannot submit as one claim - it must be submitted in line with the separate funding periods or will be rejected. ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ“…๐Ÿ™…

Service agreements will need to align with funding periods which means that there will not be flexibility to claim from the previous period after it has rolled over. ๐Ÿ”„๏ธ๐Ÿ—“๏ธโŒ

๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ What to do to prepare ๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ

๐Ÿค Insist on service agreements based off actual funding in each period. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ“† Think hard about what you might need during the plan and ask for longer periods if needed. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿšซ Do not let them do anything less than 12 month periods for support coordination and allied health services as these supports should be able to be responsive to crisis points and fluctuate depending on need. ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

โœ…๏ธ Speak with us about how we can assist with navigating the ever changing landscape of the NDIS. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿคโœ…
