Understanding the NDIS: How Pathways Support Services Can Help
The National Disability Insurance Scheme, provides support for eligible people living with disability. It is designed to help people access the services and supports they need to build skills, increase independence, participate in the community, and work towards their personal goals.
At Pathways, we understand that navigating the NDIS can feel overwhelming, especially if you are just getting started. As a registered and accredited NDIS provider, our team can help clients better understand the scheme, what they may be eligible to receive, and how NDIS supports can be used to meet their individual needs and goals.
Unlike previous funding models, NDIS funding is allocated to the individual. This gives participants more choice and control over how their funding is used, and we work alongside clients to help them understand their options and make informed decisions about the supports that best suit their circumstances.
To access the NDIS, you generally need to check whether you meet the eligibility requirements, gather evidence about your disability and support needs, and submit an access request to the NDIA. Pathways Support Services can help explain these steps in simple terms and support clients to feel more confident throughout the process.
The NDIS will look at things such as your age, residency, disability, daily support needs, and whether the supports requested are considered reasonable and necessary. Reasonable and necessary supports must relate to your disability, provide value for money, help you work towards your goals, and be likely to benefit you.
As an experienced NDIS provider, Pathways Support Services is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that aligns with the NDIS Practice Standards. Our focus is on helping clients feel informed, supported, and empowered to work towards their goals.
