What is fueling you this weekend? 🌲🌲🌲

15/01/2026

Many midlife women don’t burn out because they don’t rest enough —
they burn out because the internal pressure never stops.

“I should be coping better.”
“I shouldn’t need this much rest.”
“I should be able to manage it all.”

In this new solo episode (64) of Midlife Reclaimed, I explore how these quiet “shoulds” intensify in midlife and keep us overextended, even when we’re trying to care for ourselves.

This episode isn’t about giving up on what matters.

It’s about learning how to replace rigid expectations with compassion, discernment, and values — so life can feel more sustainable again.

The beginning of a new year can quietly bring pressure —
to plan, decide, improve, and push forward.

For many women in midlife, that way of starting no longer feels supportive.

Values offer a different entry point.
Not what you should do next — but how you want to live, work, and care for yourself as this season unfolds.

They help us orient when life feels full, complex, or uncertain.
They invite meaning over momentum.

If this resonates, next week I’m offering a gentle, guided online session — Coming Home to Your Values in Midlife — the first in a new series called Midlife Reclaimed Teachings.

It’s not therapy.
It’s a structured, reflective pause — particularly supportive for women balancing work, leadership, and life in midlife.

🌿 A different way to begin the year — happening next week 🌿

The start of a new year often comes with an unspoken pressure to reset, re-energise, and get everything “back on track.”

For many midlife women, that pressure is amplified — especially when you’re already carrying an unfair share of the emotional and mental load at work and at home.

Rather than adding more to your plate, this session offers a pause.

Next week, I’m offering the first in a new, occasional series called Midlife Reclaimed Teachings.

The inaugural session is
Coming Home to Your Values in Midlife — a 90-minute guided space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what genuinely matters as the year unfolds.

The session includes:
✨ a short, grounded teaching on values in midlife
✨ a guided meditation
✨ reflective journalling prompts
✨ time to integrate and ask questions

It’s not therapy.
It is a calm, supportive space for reflection, self-connection, and gentle orientation — particularly for women who feel stretched by responsibility and expectation.

đź“… Thursday, 22nd January 6pm AEST, QLD
🎟️ Book your place here:

If this feels like the kind of start to the year you’re needing, you’d be very welcome to join.
If there is someone you feel would benefit from this please share on.

Is it really that urgent?

So much of the stress we carry doesn’t come from what we have to do —
but from the invisible pressure to do it now.

Even five years on from a severe burnout
— the kind that took me out of work and quietly dismantled my life —
I still feel the culture of urgency drop by.

It shows up as a tightening.
A rush.
A sense that something bad will happen if I don’t act immediately.

Most of the time, I can notice it now.
I don’t always act on it.
But honestly — it’s hard.

Because urgency is everywhere.
And it teaches us to confuse speed with safety,
and immediacy with importance.

Not everything needs responding to today.
Not everything is an emergency.
Some of the weight we’re carrying…
was never ours to hold in the first place.

Maybe the question isn’t
How do I keep up?
but
What can I gently set down?

I am back 👋 Sharing a ritual of mine that you may find useful as you venture into 2026 🧡

Michelle from Nostos Nest was my recent guest on Midlife Reclaimed, and I’m deeply grateful for her openness and courage in sharing her lived experience of midlife burnout.

I believe that when we hear someone speak their truth — not as a lesson, but as lived experience — something softens and heals in us too. One voice gives another permission to breathe and feel less alone.

Thank you, Michelle, for being part of this healing chain.
