MOXIBUSTION

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Moxibustion is a technique that uses the heat from burning the herb mugwort near specific acupuncture points to support the properties of each acupuncture point.

Often your Acupuncturist will select specific points, depending on the treatment goal and how your body is presenting.

It's a common question in clinic for clients to ask, what the purpose of doing Moxibustion is. Here are just a few reasons why Moxibustion may be included in your session.

The fertility journey requires a deeper understanding of the female body from a holistic and functional perspective. It can be overwhelming because the amount of research and information you have to process is A LOT.

So many things to consider: supplements, ovulation, menstrual cycles, hormones, fertile window, diet and lifestyle, endocrine disrupters, nervous system regulation, the holding of the breath at the end of each cycle hoping for a positive result and SO much more.

That's why it is important to connect with the right practitioners as soon as possible, to support you in navigating all these questions with evidenced based practice. Not only may it save you time but all the extra stressors that come with the journey!

Our degree qualified acupuncturists are well equipped to support you through the journey. Whether it be to support natural conception or through the journey of IUI or IVF. We utilise the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), connected with science and evidence based practice to support all women in all stages of the fertility journey.

Happy Lunar New Year to the Lang Acupuncture Community!! 🎊🥳

Wishing you all a positive and healthy lunar new year filled with an abundance of joy and laughter.

We are moving into a Fire Horse year 🔥 which is a big shift in energy from the Wood Snake year 🍃.

The wood energy is strong, but growth is gradual. Like a tree that needs to form deep roots in order to ensure stability and longevity through the different climates and elements. That was the energy 2025. It was a year to shed patterns that no longer served us and form deep roots and foundations in order to ready us for what is to come in 2026.

2026 is the Fire energy. It's a faster pace, bringing more excitement. The fire element brings more assertiveness to the table. Things that were once stagnant or slow moving in 2025 will most likely shift faster. Our world will shift and change quicker than before. This is where the work you did to build strong foundations in the Wood year is important. To handle the fast pace and fire of 2026 those foundations are required. Fire is very much go go go energy, but remember, everything must be in balance. Exciting and fast is great, but if not managed with adequate rest, can bring exhaustion and "combustion".

Unwind. Reset. Repeat.... And more..

With the pace and tenacity that we live our lives today, a simple day of rest isn't always enough to bring our body back to balance. Often because we have lost the ability to be able to read our own body's signs and symptoms, subsequently delaying the time it takes for us to take action until the body really screams with significant discomfort.

Embarking on the journey to incorporate acupuncture and Chinese Medicine into your life isn't just about relaxation (though it's definitely an added benefit), it's really about reconnecting back to your body. Unlearning the habits that have brought stress or strain on the body.

A big role as acupuncturists, is to help guide you back to understanding the subtle signs and symptoms of the body. So you feel more empowered in your own body instead of broken, exhausted or disconnected.

It's been such a big year of growth, reflection, releasing of what no longer serves us and opening pathways for deeper connection. Not just for me, but for many who have walked through the doors of Lang Acupuncture and Holistic Health.

The stories and journeys that have been shared within the walls of the clinic inspire me everyday. Your commitment and strength to show up for yourselves and to work towards changing the narrative of your health and wellness is what reminds me of the why and purpose of Lang Acupuncture and Holistic Health.

HEY. HI. HELLO!

I'm Ava, the face behind Lang Acupuncture Holistic Health. 💁🏻‍♀️ I haven't shown my face on her very much lately as I have been in my:

'I don't want to be caught up in the hustle culture any more, so I'm going to do some deep work to break these patterns for myself' era! 😂

And gosh! It's probably been a few years of deep work coming from having Chronic fatigue to where I am now, having peace in the slower pace of life and having the spring in my step to live for the simpler things. 😌

I’ve been learning that true wellness isn’t about how much you do and how much you achieve, but how deeply you can restore. 🌿

For a long time, I thought slowing down meant I was falling behind — but it’s actually where the healing happens. It’s where your body, mind, and spirit finally get a chance to catch up with each other. Unlearning all the patterns that block you from the pace of nature is where the real magic happens. 💜 In aligning with your true nature and pace (and not that of a heightened nervous system and survival state) do you start to make choices in line with your souls path.

Thank you to all who have remained followers and supporters of Lang Acupuncture and hello to any new followers! I cannot wait to connect with you in person.

Your wellness routine, should not drain you. It should nourish you.

Your wellness routine is not a set routine. Instead it should be adjustable to the season you are in your life. Adjusted to your stress levels, energy levels and overall energetic capacity.

It's when we don't realise the body's need for these adjustments, that our wellness routines contribute to our depletion and burn out.

Are you tuned into knowing when and how to adjust your routines? Do you know your body's cues?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), being in good health is all about balance. Knowing when your body needs to slow down and when it needs support. When exploring Chinese Medicine, part of the journey is for you to reconnect with the body and understand when the body is asking for you to slow down and how it needs support. It's not just about getting a treatment or getting someone else to fix your problems. It's the mutual interaction of learning, teaching and growth!

When looking at your presenting symptoms holistically, we consider both what is appearing on the surface and the deeper underlying factors contributing to these symptoms.

Sometimes the initial focus is to relieve the surface-level symptoms. However, this does not necessarily mean that true healing is complete. Often, there are deeper imbalances that have developed over time and require ongoing, consistent support to address. These deeper patterns rarely appear suddenly. They are the result of long-term imbalances in the body and mind. Meaningful and lasting change often takes time, especially when conditions are more complex. So when you embark of the holistic path, remember to be patient with the process.

Acupuncture offers an array of tools to support both the surface symptoms and the deeper root causes of imbalance. If you’re ready to begin this process of supporting the restoration of balance, book an acupuncture session and start your journey today.

This recent research that has come out shines a light on the importance of ensuring s***m health is as optimal as possible. It is not uncommon for women to blame themselves for poor fertilisation rates or outcomes when it comes to IVF and ICSI cycles.

In this 2025 study by Torra-Massana etc al., a retrospective cohort study was conducted where 13632 oocyte donation ICSI cycles were included (derived from 7444 controlled ovarian stimulations of 2963 unique donors).

In summary, the study found that of the cases that had poor fertilisation rates, male factor-related factors contributed to 84.1% of those cases.

That just emphasises the importance of ensuring s***m quality is up to standard and that women can't do it on their own!

Stress is often a messenger that most of us just ignore. We brush it aside as “just being busy” or “part of life". This is not how we were meant to live - in a constant state of survival.

While acupuncture may be used to support your journey in supporting your nervous system, a bigger part of the holistic perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is considering how our environment, the food we consume, the people we surround ourselves with and our own boundaries (or lack thereof) as well as our ability to process emotions can contribute to our overall wellbeing.

It's not just needles.
