The myth of the "right time" to go for it
I once coached a woman with a glowing resume, glowing credentials, and glowing gifts…
But she said her soul felt dim.
Not because she lacked purpose or drive.
But because she was constantly waiting for the “right time” to scale it, elevate it. Take it to the next level.
She told herself:
“When I have more clarity…”
“When the kids are older…”
“When I’ve healed more…”
“When I feel ready…”
But that story?
She had been telling it for years.
And I gently asked her:
“What’s the cost of you waiting?”
The sigh that left her body said everything.
The cost was her joy.
Her fulfillment.
Her impact.
Her aliveness.
We think inaction is neutral.
It’s not.
It’s a slow erosion of the life you could be living.
So here’s the truth, love:
If waiting is your habit, purpose won’t ever feel “timely.”
And clarity? It doesn’t come before the leap.
It arrives in motion.
It meets the you who stopped waiting and started creating.
There’s a version of you being called forward now—
Not the “someday” version.
The now-you.
The bold-you.
The one who leads without permission.
You don’t need perfect timing.
You need permission.
And that only ever comes from you.
So I’ll ask you what I asked her:
What could you create…
if you stopped waiting for the right time,
and decided to be the one who creates it?
