Have you ever thought ''mindfulness is hard'', ''I can't sit still for a long time'', ''my brain is always so active.'' ?
🌸Practicing mindfulness can be done in small, everyday moments 🌸
When you're making your morning coffee; notice the sounds around you, the smell of the coffee beans, the feeling of holding the hot mug.
Walking to get lunch; notice how the wind or sun feels on your skin, notice what sounds you can hear around you, what smells are lingering in the air.
Mindfulness is tuning into your senses in the present time. It can be extended to tuning into how your senses make you feel, and naming these feelings.
''I am feeling irritated because there is a lot of loud noises around me.''
''I feel happy because I smell a perfume that reminds me of someone I love.''
Practicing mindfulness grows your ability to tune into your surroundings and your present self. It can help when anxiety, racing thoughts or feelings of dread start to feel consuming. Mindfulness helps you tune into what your body needs at that particular moment.
