Our Story
Move Well is the brain child of renowned Brisbane remedial massage therapist, Matt Baker (BSc, DipSci RT, Dipsc B Psych). A fusion of the latest wellness technology and musculoskeletal therapy techniques, Matt is working wonders on sports injuries across Brisbane. Move Well offers a range of remedial therapies including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, muscoskeletal massage therapy and body psychotherapy. Matt operates from Morningside. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, conducted in the state-of-the-art Airpod is an excellent aid in sports preparation and recuperation. It may help speed up recovery from sports injuries, provide faster recuperation from workouts, increase energy and mental clarity as well as general health, leading to improved performance. Although fairly new to Australia, the Airpod has become a widely popular performance enhancing strategy among professional athletes overseas and amongst professional Australian athletes, particularly in the AFL, rugby and cricket teams. Musculoskeletal Therapy is a therapy designed to treat the muscles and skeletal system using various soft tissue and mobilisation (not manipulation) techniques. Used in the treatment and the rehabilitation of back pain, neck pain, joint pain, muscular dysfunction and/or injuries, musculoskeletal techniques incorporate a varied amount of “hands on” remedial techniques as well as home stretching and strengthening exercises. Body Centered Psychotherapy (or Somatic Psychotherapy) is a holistic form of psychotherapy that can help you with emotional and physical issues including anxiety, depression and physical pain. It assists you in developing a deeper understanding of your emotional and physical experience, so that you can be present and in tune with your emotional and physical responses and regain harmony and balance in your life. By utilizing body psychotherapy and counseling, access to stored memories and unconscious feelings are gained influencing your overall perception. Matt’s impressive experience as a remedial massage therapist includes working with the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland State of Origin, Queensland Academy of Sport, Australia Institute of Sport (Soccer) and the Australian Cricket Team. He is a former lecturer at Australian College of Natural Medicine in Brisbane and has been a guest lecturer The University of Queensland. Matt’s gained qualifications at Australian Institute of Applied Sciences, Griffith University, Australian College of Natural Medicine and the Institute of Energy Science.
