Today, Cura Day Hospitals Group marked World Hand Hygiene Day by highlighting the rollout of our "Rub In, Rub Out" initiative, a group-wide program focused on strengthening hand hygiene practices and reinforcing a strong culture of patient safety across our hospitals.

The initiative has re-energised our existing hand hygiene program by introducing a simple and consistent rule for staff: rub in every time you enter a patient zone and rub out every time you exit.

We are delighted to welcome ophthalmologist Dr Nicola Glasson to Eye Tech Day Surgeries.

Dr Glasson is an Australian‑trained ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract surgery, glaucoma, and medical retina conditions. She was awarded a prestigious international travelling scholarship, which enabled her to complete a fellowship at Cambridge University Hospital (UK).

During her fellowship, Dr Glasson undertook advanced subspecialty training in complex cataract surgery, glaucoma procedures, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). She worked closely with internationally recognised clinicians and researchers, gaining valuable experience with innovative surgical techniques and emerging technologies in the management of glaucoma and cataract.

Dr Glasson is deeply committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care, underpinned by the latest advances in ophthalmic research and surgical innovation. We are proud to welcome her to our team of medical professionals and look forward to the exceptional care she will provide to our patients.

Dr Bobba is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist, graduating with First Class Honours from UNSW and completing specialist training through the Sydney Eye Hospital network, including senior registrar roles at Westmead and Bankstown Hospitals.

She has extensive experience across general ophthalmology, complex cataracts and glaucoma, supported by award-winning academic excellence, advanced fellowship training, and over 30 peer‑reviewed publications.

Dr Bobba is passionate about building meaningful patient relationships and delivering personalised, evidence‑based care tailored to each individual’s visual needs.
