Dr Michael Donaldson completed his medical degree at Griffith University and has worked in Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina hospital. He has spent the past 6 years working in general practice in the Gold Coast and northern NSW areas before moving to Brisbane.

Michael enjoys all aspects of general practice with particular interest in men’s heath, preventative health, adolescent health, LGBTQ+ health and sexual health including PREP prescription.

Dr Valencia has over 20 years of experience as a medical practitioner and has worked in different hospitals and general practice clinics all over Australia, and we are very happy that she now calls Ascot Family Practice her home away from home.

She enjoys all facets of general practice and getting to know patients from all walks of life but has a soft spot for chronic disease management, mental health, aged care, women's health, men's health and adolescent health.

Dr Valencia is well-known amongst her patients as an all-around genuinely caring and friendly person that provides long-term care to families and individuals. She practices a holistic approach in promoting, maintaining and enhancing her patients’ health and well-being.

She speaks fluently in both English and Filipino. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, sightseeing, meditating, spending quality time with family and friends, and having relaxing long walks with her husband and two spoiled fur babies.

We are excited to introduce the newest member of our Team, Dr Sam.

Dr Sam has a wealth of Experience in General Practice and has special interests in Skin Cancer Medicine, Aviation Medical Examinations, Men’s Health and Preventative Health.

Dr Sam obtained his Doctorate Degree in Medicine in 1997 and became a Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2014. Dr Sam has extensive experience both abroad and here in Australia.

He has worked as Resident Medical Officer at the Royal Darwin Hospital and during his time in Dubbo and Narromine, Dr Sam worked as a General Practitioner with Narromine Shire Medical Practice and concurrently as a Visiting Medical Officer at both Narromine Hospital and Lourdes Rehabilitation and Palliative Hospital Dubbo.

Qualifications:
MD, FRACGP, AMC Cert, Cert. Aviation Med., Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, PhD

We are excited to see Dr Madelon Amies return after her Maternity Leave. Dr Madelon is looking forward to seeing old and new faces from Wednesday the 27th of October.

Dr Madelon Amies grew up in Maryborough before moving to Brisbane to complete her university studies. She graduated MBBS with honours from the University of Queensland in 2012 and has worked in several hospitals throughout South-East Queensland prior to starting in General practice in 2015. Dr Amies enjoys caring for patients of all ages. Her interests include chronic disease management, preventative healthcare and patient education.
