On ANZAC Day, we pause not only as a community, but as caregivers, to honour service, sacrifice, and resilience.

At TMR Rehab, we reflect on the Australians and New Zealanders who served - and those who gave their lives in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. We also acknowledge the strength and endurance of all who have worn the uniform.

Today is a reminder of the courage it takes to keep moving forward, even in the face of hardship. Itโ€™s a spirit we see every day in our patients, and one we deeply respect.

As we take a moment to reflect, we stand in gratitude for those who came before us and the freedoms they helped protect.

Lest we forget.

The Christmas and New Year period is a time for rest, connection, travel and celebration. For many people, it also means a break from regular exercise routines. If youโ€™re feeling a little sluggish or unsure about where to start again, youโ€™re not alone โ€” and the good news is that returning to exercise doesnโ€™t need to be overwhelming.

As an Exercise Physiologist, I often see people delay restarting because they feel they need to โ€œmake upโ€ for time off. In reality, the safest and most effective approach is to ease back in gradually and rebuild consistency.

๐ŸคฒA CONVERSATION CAN CHANGE A LIFE! ๐Ÿ™
R U OK Day - Start a conversation with those who may be struggling with life. Nine in ten Australians report feeling grateful, supported and cared for when someone genuinely asks them if they're OK - and thatโ€™s a good reason to give it a go. You might even be having these conversations already without realising..

You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:
1. Ask R U OK?
2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check in
Don't just post it DO IT!

Yes we know it's been rather chilly, but procrastination is like that friend who always promises to help you move but never shows up; what starts as a simple "I'll do it tomorrow" can sneakily turn into weeks, months, or even years of couch potato status if weโ€™re not careful about our choices and commitments.

๐Ÿ’ชโœจ When it comes to keeping older Australians fit, we often think of gentle movement and light exercises. However, one innovative Exercise Physiologist is challenging the norm by introducing heavy weights into the routine!

This approach not only builds strength but also boosts confidence and improves overall well-being. It's all about empowering our seniors to embrace their strength and capabilities. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธโค๏ธ

National Pain Week is Australiaโ€™s annual awareness event for chronic pain. National Pain Week takes place in the last week of July each year. National Pain Week 2025 will run from 21-27 July 2025.

Chronic pain affects people of all ages and can be extremely debilitating. Exercise physiology plays a crucial role in managing chronic pain by utilising exercise as a therapeutic intervention to reduce pain, improve physical function, and enhance overall well-being. And sadly, approximately one in four children also experience chronic pain, lasting longer than three months. That's around 25% of the pediatric population. Don't let them suffer, seek help!
