✨🦓 ROMY’S HOURS ARE EXPANDING 🦓✨

After being booked out one month in advance with , we are opening extra clinic hours for our Dietitian, Romy!

Get in quick with online bookings via the Savvy Dietetics website - there are only 4 spots left for Initial Consults with 15% off (for initial consults before or on 14th March). Savvy Dietetics consults Australia-wide via Telehealth.

If you are a Wollongong or NSW local and wanting to see Romy in person as part of the interdisciplinary team, email CHA at admin@connectedhealthalliance.org.au to request a booking so they can send you the intake form and online booking link. Note, the general new client waitlist for CHA is not open yet.

Romy is an emerging Dietitian in the Hypermobility & Co space and will be strongly supported by and teams while she grows in this space. Ensuring you recieve high quality care is our top priority🪴

🌟 EHLERS DANLOS GLC RECAP 🌟

The recent EDS GLC was truly special - it’s not every day we get to be in a room full of amazing clinicians and passionate hypermobility advocates, or see our colleagues from .aus and 💛

As someone living with hEDS, the hypermobile community feels like home. Aleisha and I attended in person, while Romy joined us virtually from NSW ~ .

Attending really drove home the conference theme of teamwork, and I feel like we’ve come away with a deeper understanding of how we as clinicians can better support our Hypermobile community. There are too many highlights to mention! (and more incredible people than I can tag!)

WELCOMING DIETITIAN ROMY 🥳 our newest member of the clinical team!

Romy is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her practice, living with chronic conditions including Type 1 Diabetes and Coeliac Disease.

As our in-house endocrine expert, one of Romy’s key passions is supporting clients with blood sugar and metabolic/endocrine health. She blends clinical knowledge with practical problem solving, always digging deep to understand the mechanisms behind symptoms and find sustainable solutions tailored to each client’s needs and capacity.

With her own experience of living gluten free and extensive work with clients on elimination diets, meal planning for complex dietary needs is one of Romy’s strengths.

Romy is also committed to creating a neurodivergent-affirming, inclusive environment for all clients 🌈♾️

As with all of our team, Romy is well versed in our approach to Hypermobility & Co dietetics, and is currently part way through an intensive three month onboarding process. From here she’ll engage in our team’s weekly case conferencing as well as ongoing mentoring and education in HSD/EDS, POTS, MCAS and more 🦓

💻 Bookings with Romy are officially OPEN for February 2025 and onwards via Telehealth.

🌈 We’re offering 15% off initial consultations with Romy until 14th March 2025! Romy also accepts EPC/EDP plans, private health and NDIS clients ✨

🎂 Three years ago today, I had my very first day in clinic as ! From starting in a tiny clinic room in Brisbane helping ‘burnt out millennials’, I never could have imagined the path ahead.

From the very beginning, our mission has been to bring ease and clarity to the nutrition journey of our clients - helping to connect the dots with complex health conditions 🕵️‍♀️

We’ve grown so much since those early days. I’m so grateful for Aleisha and Kristie in our incredible team, our amazing clients who teach us so much every day, and support from friends, family and colleagues. Thank YOU for being a part of this journey!

Here’s to many more years of supporting and being supported by the Hypermobility & Co community 🦓✨

Earlier this month, Aleisha, one of our amazing Dietitians, spent a few weeks volunteering at HEAL Africa Hospital in the Congo with AusHEAL– supporting & upskilling their nutrition and medical teams in a range of areas.

HEAL Africa Hospital is a 300+ bed hospital with a surgical focus, treating a large number of women, children and displaced people impacting by the surrounding conflict in Goma.

🪴 CLINIC UPDATE 🪴

From 1st October 2024, we’re increasing our Dietetic consult fees to help us to continue providing the thorough, high-quality care that you’ve come to expect, especially for our clients with complex and invisible illnesses like HSD & EDS.

In the last year we’ve built up further professional networks in the hypermobility space and have committed to keeping up to date on the latest research and approaches to supporting our clients here.

For each consult, our Dietitians aim to go the extra mile to help you join the dots on your journey - which often involves finding and reading research, making custom resources, writing letters, and touching base with our professional dietetic, allied health and medical networks. While we set aside administrative time to explore these and write up thorough Nutrition Care Plans, increasing our prices - especially for initial consults, helps to bring us in line with industry prices for Dietitians of our experience and plan pacing to avoid burnout.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we strive to offer the best possible Dietetic care for our clients with invisible illness and complex gastrointestinal symptoms 💛

Aleisha is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian & Certified Health Coach and recently joined the Savvy Dietetics team in May.

She’s hit the ground running with over 45 clients on her books, and has been helping us revamp our client resources!

Aleisha’s special interests include:

🧫 Gut microbiome & micronutrient optimisation - highly skilled in supporting gut microbiome health to manage symptoms, and navigating testing, interpreting and correcting nutrient deficiencies

🌟 MEET THE TEAM - SAVVY 🌟

Hiya, I’m Savita - Accredited Practicing Dietitian, Patient Advocate & Director of Savvy Dietetics ☺️

I started Savvy Dietetics back in 2021 hoping to build a space to support burnt-out millennials with their gut health, energy & mood.

Through this, I started working with hypermobile clients, and eventually realised, ‘Wait! I’m hypermobile too!’.

Suddenly a whole lifetime of seemingly unconnected health experiences started making sense, and now I’m a proud patient-turned-practitioner living with hEDS, POTS & MCAS.

Since then I’ve had the honour of supporting over 350 bendy clients on their nutrition journey, forming & participating in local and Australia-wide hypermobility professional networks and more. I love working in this space, and I am so grateful for the incredible practitioners I get to learn from and all things my clients teach me every day 🥰

Locations: I practice from our Sunshine Coast (Sippy Downs) clinic and Telehealth.

Accepting new clients? I’m currently at capacity for new clients & waitlist submissions. Our wonderful dietitian Aleisha is upskilled in Hypermobility & Co and seeing new clients!
