I've had some requests for some healthy snack ideas, so here are some suggestions that can help keep your energy levels stable and curb hunger between meals.

Choosing options that are rich in nutrients—like a piece of fruit with nut butter, plain Greek yoghurt with berries, veggie sticks with hummus, or a handful of nuts—can help you stay satisfied and avoid reaching for less nutritious choices.

While these snacks can be part of a balanced diet, it’s important to enjoy them in moderation, as even healthy foods can contribute to excess kilojoules if over consumed. A good way to ensure this, is by reading the nutritional information panel on the back of the packaging and only having 1 serve of that food (look for 'Serving Size' it will be up at the top of the panel).

Fresh Fruit and Veggies 🫑🥦🥕🌽

Fruit and veggies are essential for a healthy diet. They provide essential vitamins, minerals and fibre that contributes to overall health and wellbeing, including a healthy gut and potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

If possible, shop local farmers markets for the freshest produce available as they contain higher amounts of these essential nutrients than the produce found in major supermarkets.
Organic is best as there is no harmful pesticides or chemicals used in growing the food, but if unable to purchase organic, make sure to wash your fresh produce before use.

Don't forget that frozen fruit and vegetables are another great way to add these essential nutrients into your diet.
