SITTING is the new smoking : how harmful is too much sitting

Researches have shown that prolonged sitting has such harmful health consequences. If you live a sedentary lifestyle, you have a higher chance of being overweight, developing type 2 diabetes or heart disease, and experiencing depression and anxiety. Also , prolonged sitting is the one of main causes of developing pain and spinal asymmetry.

On this stage , the challenge is not only on integrated balance skills , but on your strength, mobility, coordination and core stability. This requires our body collaborating with different fitness elements to complete the task , this is also an indicator towards athletes’s readiness on fundamental movements prior to working on sport conditioning.

Interpret the following video, it’s a typical eccentric quadriceps strengthening, however, we actually pay more focus on keeping best possible 3D alignment, and analyzing the reasons of spinal asymmetry or pelvic tilting , instead of just unconsciously working on eccentric movement.

We have reunited again on Monday 21th August for a face to face internal team training session. We were privileged to have Stanley , our principal share client relationship management and Hugo, physiotherapist present management of dizziness , vertigo and balance disorders.

Hugo has given us an extensive knowledge information of Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), one of the most common causes of the sudden sensation that you're spinning and other dizziness disorders. This helps us develop a pathway that how we can continue providing optimum care for our patients with relevant symptoms.

Do I need a brace for scoliosis correction ?
A scoliosis brace is a medical device used in children and adolescents with scoliosis.

There are several rigid back braces available on the market today to treat scoliosis. These braces can be varied in how pressure is applied to the spine and ribs to prevent a scoliosis curve from progressing.

According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), they’re effective in around 80 percent of people treated with them.

Bracing can be effective for slowing or halting progression of your spinal curve when you have scoliosis. As the recommendation of brace treatment indicated by the Scoliosis Research Society:

1. A curve between 20 and 40 degrees that is not too high or low on the spine,
2. In someone with at least 18 months of growth remaining,
3. And being prepared to wear the brace for 16 to 20 hours a day until they stop growing.

Frozen shoulder, also called adhesive capsulitis, causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder. Over time, symptoms get better usually within 1 to 2 years.

On the initial stage which is around 6 weeks to 6 months , the shoulder becomes stiff and is painful to move , this can be hardly differentiated with shoulder bursitis. Early intervention has been correlated with greater prognosis.
