In a world where we can't always control what is going on around us, how do we stay present, grounded, and able to feel joy, feel safe thereby allowing ourselves to let go of feelings that do not serve us?
The human brain is wired to detect threatening situations which creates a fight or flight response. This response triggers uncomfortable feelings and if not resolved these feelings can stay with us subconsciously, until the thoughts or threats are dealt with, many find it difficult to move on and feel happy again. For those that remain in the fight or flight state for lengthy periods of time can develop mental health issues such as chronic stress disorders, PTSD, Anxiety and Depression.
