In a world where we can't always control what is going on around us, how do we stay present, grounded, and able to feel joy, feel safe thereby allowing ourselves to let go of feelings that do not serve us?
The human brain is wired to detect threatening situations which creates a fight or flight response. This response triggers uncomfortable feelings and if not resolved these feelings can stay with us subconsciously, until the thoughts or threats are dealt with, many find it difficult to move on and feel happy again. For those that remain in the fight or flight state for lengthy periods of time can develop mental health issues such as chronic stress disorders, PTSD, Anxiety and Depression.
Meditation is scientifically proven to help ease the sympathetic nervous system, allowing the fight or flight state to subside.
Zen Holistic Counselling teaches the practice of Zen Meditation amongst many other many styles of meditation, that helps our minds, bodies and souls to remain conscious and present in the conscious moment allowing us to live consciously rather than subconsciously. This state allows the nervous system to relax and new supportive thoughts to flow.

Welcome to 2026, another year of feeling, experiencing, searching, balancing, growing, achieving, being still, loving, finding ourselves, laughing, dancing, singing, connecting, learning, hurting, rushing, rejoicing, feeling into all of the experiences and emotions that we go through every day. The question is, "How do we find our inner peace amongst all of this"?
Come and join me for regular meditation classes where we will learn the art of being still, breathing intentionally, reflecting, visualising, gazing and listening.
