Most people just drop into a squat and wonder why their knees cave or their hips feel weak.

The fix? Create tension before you move.

👉 Rip the floor apart with your feet.
👉 Screw them into the ground, then drive the floor away as you stand.
👉 Finish tall, strong, and locked in.

This one tweak takes pressure off your knees and back, fires up your glutes, and makes your squat instantly more powerful. Save this for your next leg day 👊

Noosa Triathlon Fundraiser - Join the movement to make a difference 🙌 (Link in Bio)

The year is 2008. I am 16 years old. And I’ve just ruptured my first ACL playing football - the only thing I knew and loved (I’d go on to do 3!). School wasn’t my place. And I was ‘diagnosed’ with OCD. Anxious thoughts ruled my headspace. Compulsions such as washing my hands until they would bleed because I thought they weren’t clean, and looking over my shoulder for constant fear of having dropped something.

Looking back it seems insane. But for a kid from the ‘Dro (short for Indooroopilly - that’s what the cool kids call it!) I didn’t know any better. You don’t know what you don’t know. And you cant rationalise what you don’t know how to rationalise!

For me though, it was the beginning of a powerful journey of self-discovery and conquering my inner demons to continue my evolution. Breathwork, meditation, and exercise formed the basis of my approach and eventually I succeeded.

Today though, mental illness is on the rise. We live longer, but we aren’t necessarily all happier for it. The world can be a rough place, and without the right tools, it can be hard to navigate.

That’s why I’ve teamed up again with Beyond Blue to raise funds at this year’s Noosa Triathlon to create awareness and break the trend - particularly with our young people who are so heavily influenced by the pull of social media.
