Hare Krsna Temple - Burbank A yoga and meditation centre, which teaches ancient wellness practices for modern fast paced lives.

Hare Krishna Temple - Burbank is a spiritual cultural centre which we all can lovingly call “Our spiritual home” in the upcoming leafy suburb of Burbank on the Southeast side of Brisbane. The temple is a collective initiative of bhakti yoga practitioners from diverse backgrounds who regularly come together to share the philosophy and practice of spiritual journey, group mantra meditation and happy community building. We facilitate warm and inclusive community events which allow new and experienced participants to taste the pure bliss that comes from sharing kirtan, transcendental literature, spiritual company and delicious plant-based meals! We are an entirely not-for-profit, volunteer-run project and would love to see you soon for kirtan, community and delicious food :)

Here we are committed to serving the community and providing them the opportunity to re find one’s life experience by bringing eternal joy and genuine happiness through devotion and service to the Supreme Lord – Sri Krsna. Our Inspiration:

We draw our inspiration and guidance from the life and teachings of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who first brought the culture of devotional service to the Western world. He is widely regarded as the world’s pre-eminent exponent of the teachings and practices of Bhakti-yoga (devotional service).

This weekend is going to be filled with exciting festivals.

On *Friday from 5:00PM* we will be celebrating the *Appearance of Lord Vamana*. Where the Lord appeared as a dwarf Brahmana to bless Bali Maharaja and protect the demigods from his growing power. *This Saturday*, during the Love Feast, Her Grace Bhavamayi Mataji will be speaking on the topic of “Bringing Krsna Home”. *This Sunday from 4:30PM* we are celebrating Bhadra Purnima - Srimad Bhagavatam Day. Srimad Bhagavatam is considered the ripened fruit of all Vedic literature, and distributing this sacred scripture carries immense spiritual benefits for both the distributor and the recipient.

This year, on the 7th of September, is the most auspicious day of Bhadra Purnima. In the Srimad Bhagavatam, there is a beautiful verse (Srimad Bhagavatam 12.13.13) that says:
prauṣṭhapadyāṁ paurṇamāsyāṁ
hema-siṁha-samanvitam
dadāti yo bhāgavataṁ
sa yāti paramāṁ gatim

“If on the full moon day of the month of Bhādra, one places Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam on a golden throne and gives it as a gift, they will attain the supreme transcendental destination.”

Bhadra Purnima is not only a very auspicious day to start your spiritual journey by gifting a set of Srimad Bhagavatam to your family and friends, but it is also an amazing opportunity to tell the world about the benefits of the Srimad Bhagavatam for modern society and reviving the Vedic culture that we have long forgotten.
