A huge thank you to Pattie from the Sandgate Historical Museum for joining us today and sharing her incredible knowledge of Sandgate and the surrounding suburbs. ️

Our residents loved hearing the fascinating stories, little-known facts, and rich history that make the local area so special. Your passion for preserving thisheritage really shone through, Pattie – and it sparked plenty of memories and conversations among our residents.

We’re so grateful for the time you took to visit and bring the past to life for us! 💛

Today is Aged Care Employee Day 💜
We celebrate the incredible dedication, compassion, and hard work of our own aged care workers. From providing daily support to going the extra mile—like dressing up with residents for State of Origin or Pyjama Day—our team shows up with heart, humour, and unwavering care every single day.
Thank you for everything you do to make our little village and community feel safe, seen, and supported.

It may be windy and cold outside… but inside, we’ve had a day of fun! 🧣🎉
From stick soccer matches that brought out everyone's competitive side, to the joy of chocolate crackle making (and taste testing!), there’s been no shortage of smiles.
We even got the parachute ball out for a splash of colour and movement to keep warm and active.
Laughter, connection, and creativity — just the way we like it. 💛

🌼 That's a Wrap on June! 🌼
What a wonderful month we’ve had here at PM Aged Care – full of creativity, connection, and a whole lot of fun! 💛
🎨 We kicked things off with *Painting with Hugo*, where imaginations ran wild and beautiful artwork came to life.
🍪 Our kitchen was filled with delicious smells as residents rolled up their sleeves to make ANZAC biscuits – yummy!
🌿 A big thanks to our friends at , who joined us for a hands-on plant repotting session. Our garden is now blooming with colour and care.
💪 Keeping active was never more fun than during our bean bag tossing exercises – plenty of laughter and light-hearted competition!
🌸 Creativity continued to blossom with stunning floral craft creations – residents really let their personalities shine through.
🏉 And of course, State of Origin fever took over! Flags were flying, jerseys were out.
Thank you to our team, volunteers, and community partners for making June so memorable. We can’t wait to see what joy July will bring!

History Comes Alive at PM Aged Care!

Our residents were captivated by a recent visit from Eric, a passionate volunteer from the Queensland Family History Society. Eric shared fascinating stories of migration in the 1850s - tracing Brisbane's history back to Hamburg, Germany - when it was still referred to as a Moreton Bay Colony.

It was a wonderful reminder that Queensland itself didn’t officially become a state until 1859!

A big thank you to Eric for bringing the past to life and sparking so many memories and conversations among our residents. 💬🕰️

🌸 High Tea Happiness! 🫖🍰
Our residents were treated to a delightful high tea this week, joined by our amazing staff and carers for an afternoon of connection and conversation. Chef Phil and his creative kitchen team presented beautiful 3-tier stands overflowing with sweet and savoury treats — and plenty of smiles to match!

From lending a helping hand to simply offering a listening ear, their kindness and commitment help build meaningful connections that is the foundation of our village style living at PM Aged Care.

🌼 International Nurses Day 🌼
Today, we celebrate the incredible nurses who care for our residents today and have cared for our residents in the past. Nursing in aged care is not just a job—it’s a calling. Our nurses are more than healthcare professionals. They are a diverse group of amazing individuals, who bring comfort, dignity, and expert care to every resident. At PM Aged Care, we see this every day in the way our nurses support not only residents but families and fellow team members alike.

If there is one activity at PM Aged Care that attracts a full house – it's music. This week, our residents were treated to the beautiful orchestral melodies of the 14 piece, Geoverdi Musica and the soothing sounds of classical guitar, courtesy of our talented volunteer, Angus. A heartfelt thank you to all who bring joy to our residents through music!

Today we commemorate ANZAC Day and learn that Rosemary is an emblem of remembrance. It is traditional on Anzac Day to wear a sprig of rosemary pinned to a coat lapel or to the breast (it does not matter which side, but left seems most common), or held in place by medals. Rosemary has particular significance for Australians on ANZAC Day as it grows wild on the Gallipoli Peninsula.
