GLUTEN FREE at The Thirsty Beaver 🦫

We headed here for a friends birthday lunch on Bulcock Street... and it’s such a vibe! They’ve got live music every week and some great gluten free options on the menu.

I ordered the:
✨ Pork belly bites GF
✨ Smoked brisket loaded tater tots with cheese, pickles & sour cream GF
✨ Dark chocolate espresso martini GF

Honestly, everything was so good 🤤

Definitely one to add to your list if you’re heading up the Sunshine Coast and need a coeliac-friendly feed 🤤

A wholesome little Sunday with my adopted niece ☺️✨

We spent the afternoon decorating foam Christmas baubles with sequins and pins to hang on the tree, with Randall the cat supervising like the crafty king he is 🐈‍⬛🎄

For afternoon tea we snacked on kabana, cheese, salami & crackers while we did our crafts. And for dinner we made one of the easiest meals to whip up, chicken nuggets with caesar salad (Coles GF tenders & no croutons for me, of course 🙈)

Before bed we curled up on the couch with some Coco Wyo colouring books and watched her favourite Christmas movie ❤️

Has this ever happened to you? 🫣

Trying to play it cool infront of company while slowly suffering inside...knowing that what you just ate wasn't actually a "safe" meal, and now you're on limited time to get home or to the nearest bathroom without being detected. They know something's up, but you keep telling everyone it's fine...

Or are you the person who let's everyone know what's up, and then flees the glutened crime scene faster than the speed of light? 🏃‍♀️💨

If you're gluten-free in Brisbane (or Coeliac).... Rode Meats in Stafford Heights deserves a spot on your weekly food run 👏✨

They offer a great range of gluten-free sausages and gluten free marinades like honey soy kebabs, BBQ, satay and more. I personally loved the beef fillet mignon, so I will be back soon to try the honey mustard chicken mignon 👀 They also make gluten free pies (call ahead to order/check stock), and they even make a gluten free pre-made potato bake which was delicious!

The staff are super knowledgeable about allergen safety and cross-contamination, and they are always happy to chat about options ☺️ It’s so reassuring to shop somewhere that actually understands coeliac requirements. Clean prep and helpful team members who’ll point you to safe options!

Gluten free at Sisco Café in Spring Hill 👏

They offer a weekly specials board with rotating meals, I tried the pan-fried Atlantic salmon with mashed potato, buttered greens and house-made tartare sauce. They made it coeliac safe on request, and it was SO GOOD! 💛

They also have GF + DF sweets on the top shelf of the cabinet. And the staff make beautiful coffee and GF chai lattes ☕️

Plus there’s a cute little private garden area out the back, it's the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch in the sunshine 🌿✨

Such a lovely little café, pop in and check them out if you’re in Spring Hill and after somewhere easy and safe for gluten-free brunch or lunch! 🍳 🍛

You need to know about Mr Jeebus (formerly known as Benz on Miller)!

I’ve been following their food trucks around Brisbane for years (since they first started), and they’ve never disappointed. From their epic burgers and crunchy chips to burger loaded fries, shakes and signature sauces… everything can be made 100% coeliac-friendly! All you have to do is ask for a gluten-free bun 🙌

What I love most is that they’ve grown from just a single food truck into a whole family of trucks that change locations every week - plus two permanent stores in Eagle Farm and Tingalpa. It’s been amazing to see how far they’ve come!

My personal favourites are:
🍔 Sweet Baby Jeebus Burger on a GF bun
🍟 The Best Chips Ever
🧀 Cheese Sauce
🍗 Loaded Chicken Fries

If you haven’t tracked them down yet...trust me, they’re worth it!
