🌱🌱 Have you heard about the importance of this enzyme?
Beta-glucuronidase is an enzyme that is used to digest carbohydrates and is a product of E. coli and anaerobic bacteria (bacteroides and clostridia). It is a key component of liver phase II detoxification (glucuronidation pathway) that helps clear pharmaceuticals, carcinogens, bile acids, and estrogen.
High levels of f***l beta-glucuronidase can indicate unfavorable changes in the colon. Evidence of increased enzymatic activity of intestinal microorganisms may suggest increased risk of digestive tract cancer.

🌡How to Perform the Body Basal Temperature Test?
🌡It is a simple way to self-investigate your thyroid functio. This is performed with a mercury thermometer popped into the armpit for five minutes before getting out of bed to start the day.
🌡It is important to take it before rising, because movement influences body temperature and you want to get an indication of what the thyroid is doing at rest after eight hours sleep. Ideally a consecutive week of temperatures is needed to get a clear picture of the average basal temp (*menstruating women are best to do this from around day 2 of their period, as mid-cycle ovulation gives body temperature a temporary boost).
How to do Body Basal Temperature test?
If the average temperature is less than 36.4ºC and this is combined with other thyroid symptoms such as brittle, dull or lack lustre hair, skin and nails. People with hypothyroid also tend to feel the cold more easily and they’re often quite fatigued, even by normal activities. Other characteristic features may also include a foggy mind or memory, anxiety and heart palpitations. Consult with your healthcare practitioner to run some blood tests.

Fruits and vegetables get their coloration from phytochemicals, natural bioactive compounds which, in addition to giving many fruits and veggies their eye-catching hues, also promote good health. In fact, the most vibrantly colored fruits and vegetables are the richest in vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.
What Do the Colours Mean?
But which veggies and fruits you eat is as important as how often you eat them. That's because different colours have different health benefits:
🍒Red fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, strawberries and red beans, are packed with vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium and antioxidants.
🥕Yellow/orange fruits and vegetables, including carrots, peaches, squash and pineapple, are also loaded with vitamin C, vitamin A and potassium. They can also boost the immune system and enhance vision.
🍄Mushrooms, bananas, onions and other white fruits and vegetables are good for the heart and help to control cholesterol levels.
🥦Green means lots of heart-protective potassium and vitamin K, which aids the blood clotting process. Green fruits and veggies also help to maintain vision health and strong bones and teeth. Dark green, leafy vegetables have the highest concentration of antioxidants and fiber.
🫐Blue/purple fruits and vegetables, including such favorites as cranberries, purple grapes, raisins and eggplant, boost urinary tract health and memory function and promote healthy aging

🍂How Estrogen Dominance Causes Migraine
🌿Estrogen dominance promotes fluid retention causing the brain to swell within the fixed space of the skull. This swelling creates the pressure that causes the migraine.
🌿Additionally, estrogen causes dilation of the blood vessels. The constriction of blood vessels followed by rebound dilation can contribute to migraines.
🌿Estrogen dominance also depletes magnesium in the body, which is key for healthy blood vessel tone.
🌿Magnesium deficiency can also be responsible for a spasm of arteries on the brain.
🌿Taking painkillers often worsen the issue and may damage the liver, kidneys and your gut.

🍂🍂🍂🍂

ABOUT ME

I am Helen, a Gold Coast based Holistic Nutritionist and qualified Chef. I truly believe that our negative emotions, a poor diet and lack of physical activity can disrupt the body’s homeostatic balance and lead to numerous health conditions. After having diverse health problems in my forties and having little knowledge around the drastic changes that were occurring in my body due to hormonal imbalances and emotional stress, I decided to start this journey in completing my nutrition degree to see how nutrition would help. I am passionate and dedicated about supporting people from all walks of life to restore and balance their health through holistic nutrition.
