Rex Pilgrim (RIP) Queensland's leading activist on HIV and AIDS issue of stigma. Way back in 2010 Rex and DJ Gavan Bright talks about Treatment as Prevention in a time when there was a silence in Queensland Gay Media (Q-News), both labelled heretics for our bringing to light the homophobic scrutiny importance in bringing to light the size and the importance of Treatment as Prevention. Fast forward to today it seems everybody is on meds both HIV Pos and HIV Negative men. Poz men today can have comfort in knowing that they are no longer infectious if their HIV is undetectable and they have no STI's.

Are PLHIV on medications that infectious, new studies with gay cohorts seems to indicate otherwise. http://www.healthycommunities.org.au/files/shared/live_at...

Rest In Peace, comrade your fellow members of QLD Actup miss you terribly. There is no doubt wherever you are, your keeping up the good fight and finally found peace from sadness.

The PLHIV community and ACTUP QLD will sadly miss your fierce action and writing on stigma and the insight you brought to the good fight. RIP Rex Pilgrim

We can’t be forgotten

Imagine being in the prime of your life living a fun and newly liberated existence and in a matter of years having that stolen from you and watching your friends die one by one and wondering if you will be next. Living through the pain, fear and heartache of it for over a decade, day …

This will be the final run of the No Shame About Being HIV+ T-shirts. Get your shirt here >>> (bit.ly/NoShame5). This summer will mark 5 years since the campaign began, and to date we have sent out over 1k shirts to places across the globe. Conversations about HIV have been started, stigmas have been shattered, and many have been featured with their story wearing the shirt in magazines, and other online media. You may have even seen the shirts at national and global conferences, and other community gatherings.

Over the years many people have wrote to us sharing that when they uploaded a photo to social media in their shirt it was the most uplifting, and positive experience they have had since becoming positive.

To all who have purchased a shirt over the years, we thank you! Your courage, strength, inspiring photos, and stories have touched us greatly, and have empowered a countless many. We hope to keep seeing you wearing your shirts, and sharing your stories on social media, and other public forums for years to come.

This is not the end of RiseUpToHIV, as we have many ideas in store. As one of the largest volunteer grassroots social media initiatives in the world, we will continue playing our part in tearing down the walls of stigma, fear, and shame. Stay tuned for more to come.
