Our March promotion!
Our number 1 device in clinic is the sofwave machine. This ultrasound device is designed to lift, produce collagen, elastin and your own natural Hyaluronic acid.
It improves skin tone and texture.
It has now been approved overseas for scar improvement, cellulite reduction, and body skin tightening.

This beautiful client came in for a volumising treatment. Under our lighting, you can see a significant Tyndall effect from previous filler.
We performed ultrasound and there was beautifully placed product in the mid to upper layers of the skin.
The client knew what product had been used in this region and this is what caused the Tyndall effect.
A high G prime product was used which should be used deep when injecting. Preferably on periosteum and under the SMAS and fat pads.
What did we do: NOTHING!!!!
The Tyndall effect was only noted under our lighting.
The client wasn’t concerned, hadn’t noticed it previously and wears makeup daily.
Our client could not afford to have it dissolved and then pay to have it retreated.
Dissolving product is NOT a way to make money and dare I say it, clinics are demanding that product is dissolved prior to doing any of their work on clients coming in.
Dissolving product has risks. There are definite instances where dissolving is necessary such as vascular occlusions, nodules, the presence of biofilm, poor injecting and placement. However, in the case of this client, the injecting was beautiful, just the wrong choice of filler.
Thank you to our client for giving me permission to post this image.
Samuel Ford working his therapy dog magic today! He’s such a divine natured doggo and gives the best hugs. We just adore him. ❤️
When attacks come from all directions!
Today we chat with two brave nurses whose names we cannot share, nor the Victorian hospital they worked in due to legal reasons.
They were frontline workers during Covid performing PCR tests, vaccinations, and testing for the hotel quarantine in Melbourne. There was also secondment to a nursing home in dire need of nurses.
Both of these nurses (and others) have PTSD and have been unable to return to work. They were abused by hospital visitors, colleagues, patients, doctors, and hospital management.
They were verbally abused, spat on, physically abused (one sustained a fractured rib from being pushed). They were threatened, pushed, and sworn at. They had no security assistance other than a small female security guard who would call for assistance, and no one would come to help.
They worked huge shifts in full PPE, with little to no breaks. Minimal support was offered psychologically and the impact on their health and wellbeing has been horrendous.
Talking to me took its toll on both these women and we had to do a second recording. Although we have around four hours of recordings, we have condensed it to just 30minutes. Maybe one day, after the dust settles from everything they are still having to face, we will release a second podcast.
Thank you ladies for your bravery and a desire to let people know what happened to you and your colleagues.

It’s here!!! And we are loving it.
Rejuran is a polynucleotide that has been developed in Korea to refresh the skin, reduce fine lines, hydrate and act as a scavenger for pesky free radicals which contribute to ageing.
It can be used over the full face, neck, décolletage and back of hands. It is perfect for those clients who don’t want injectable volumising or wrinkle reducing treatments.
Regenerative skin treatments are changing the landscape of aesthetic medicine and we are delighted to be able to offer this treatment at Perfectly Smooth.
For the best outcome, three treatments are recommended 2-3 weeks apart.
Training and skills are so important to us at Perfectly Smooth.
NP Bek is working with RN Amanda on Friday the 19th of Jan. if you would like to be considered as a model for filler, please shoot us a message and a photo.
If you are a suitable candidate, we will perform a full consultation, photographs and progress from there.
Please email [email protected] to organise a consult. We cannot perform consults or assessment through social media.
Sofwave has been FDA approved for skin laxity in the USA!
To be really honest, we have been blown away by the results of this treatment. It improves skin tone and texture, lifts (not a face lift, lift. Only surgery can obtain those results!), but a noticeable improvement to skin laxity. It has been approved for acne scars reduction as well.
This is a great opportunity to try this fantastic treatment.
Available for the month of January.
Sofwave is the hottest device for lifting in the market!
It has just been FDA approved in America for lifting loose skin under the upper arms, and acne scarring.
Keep watch for a special promotion being released tomorrow!
Our January promotion is now available!
Bookings now available with a limit of 3 per client at this price.

Christmas morning Brooklyn! So strange to wake to a city that never sleeps, totally still on Christmas Day…I loved it!

Love Lola, Sam, Bek and the Perfectly Smooth Team. 🎄❤️🎄
Christmas in New York! It’s crazy busy, freezing but so much fun. They do Christmas so beautifully here. 🎄🤶🎉
Everyone is welcome at Perfectly Smooth! 🥰🐶🥰
This has made my day! A gorgeous clients daughter painted this picture of Lola and gave it to me as a Chrissy pressie.
How amazing is it? And she’s only 11.
❤️🥰❤️
It’s Nurse Practitioner Day!!
So a big shout out to our NP Bek. She leads our clinic and pushes the whole team (dogs included) to be the best practitioners we can be.
She is passionate about the role of the nurse practitioner and treats our clients with respect, empathy and a very high standard of care.
After a tough couple of years, she has also branched in to the podcasting arena promoting tenderness for nurses and health care practitioners.
In November, Bek fractured her lower back and has done her best to see all her clients. A big thank you to all our beautiful clients who have been flexible with appointments.
So thank you to all NP’s. The most under rated health care providers but who continue to work diligently for their patients, the health care system and who support each other through thick and thin.
Dr Lily Vrtik is a plastic and reconstructive specialist surgeon in Brisbane.
Delving in to how Lily has found herself in the role of health care advocate, health law graduate and specialist plastic surgeon, Bek and Lily chat about their combined experiences that have led them to having an in-depth discussion around moral injury, psychology safety, colleague compassion and self care.
This is a fascinating discussion that evokes much thought about the health care space. How doctors and nurses mental health are often forgotten, and how, we as colleagues, can show tenderness to ourselves and our colleagues.
Don’t forget to leave a review and enjoy my conversation with Dr Vrtik.
Self Care with Plastic Surgeon,Dr Ayad Harb
Today on Tenderness for Nurses, we chat with Dr Harb, a renown plastic surgeon from the UK.
Dr Harb has developed a procedure for treating noses without surgery, using fillers. This procedure is called a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty. Treating noses with fillers is one the most high risk procedures in the non-surgical space, and numerous cases of blindness and tissue necrosis have been caused from this procedure. Dr Harb’s technique is all about patient safety and if following his technique correctly, the safety profile is high.
At a recent conference in Philadelphia, where Bek went to hear Dr Harb (and others) speak, Bek and Dr Harb sat down and chatted about what Dr Harb does for self care.
Although mindful self care is new to Dr Harb, they discuss what he does, how he realised he needed to care and show tenderness to himself, and some of the practices he has put in to place.
This chat emphasises the need for everyone to care for themselves, regardless of whether you are a CEO, Plastic Surgeon, Nurse or student. We all need show a little tenderness to ourselves.

For those of you that have been messaging about what therapy dogs do and can you get more information, I thought I’d share a photo of Samuel Ford working the QUT Campus. Sam was born to be a therapy dog! He adores humans, gives the best cuddles and is at his best when we put his Therapy Dog jacket on he gets to strut his stuff.
Lola, on the other hand, prefers one on one. She can pick out a stressed or anxious person and goes straight to them.
She has done this time and again in the clinic. When we recently had to deal with an emergency in the clinic, lola didn’t leave that patients lap. Although culturally, our patient wasn’t in to dogs, she consented and found Lola to be calming and helpful.
We trained Lola and Sam through
Their standard of training is amazing. It’s in person and hands on.
And a huge shout out to who we buy our dog food through to maintain healthy tummies for our dogs. They have been kind enough to offer my listeners of the Podcast 20% off their first box of dog food. Just write Nurse20 as the discount code at the checkout.
Therapy dogs are becoming a valuable component in healthcare and the joy I get from taking the dogs on therapy jobs and seeing how they help our clients is indescribable. ❤️
Today on the podcast we chat with Carly Jay Metcalfe.
We talk about her life. What it has been like to live with Cystic Fibrosis, have a double lung transplant at the age of 21, and be diagnosed with a rare gynaecological disorder at the age of 30.
Carly is the definition of determined. She has been determined to live, and to live life to its fullest.
We chat about hospital life, poo, death and ghosts! All the good stuff. 🤣
For our season 2 opener, this is a wonderful chat with a truly amazing human.
Enjoy! 💖
We are currently trialing a combination treatment for scar improvement.
We used direct needling, and skin needling combined with PRP and yesterday, added another element directly in to the scar.
The scar has improved dramatically, however, we are unbelievably impressed with the reduction of redness, pigmentation and improvement of skin tone and texture across the whole décolletage.
We will keep you updated on the progress of this treatment, but thought we would share our journey with you.
I certainly didn’t expect the reaction I got to yesterdays post!
Thank you for all the messages and DM’s.
I put together a few modalities we use to treat fine lines, and tighten the skin. Please remember, the only treatment that is going to give a big lift and tighten really lax skin is a face lift by a plastic surgeon.
The number 1 most important factor in treating fine lines and skin laxity is prevention! Make sure you use sunscreen every day. Even if working in front of a computer. Start caring for your skin early. Teach this to your kids. Washing and moisturising, using sunscreen and wearing a hat. These are imperative to good skin health and you will reap the benefits long term.
We tell our clients this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Good diet, exercise and limiting alcohol all prevent ageing.
And finally, ageing is a privilege some don’t get. This is a personal choice whether you choose to treat lines or not. You want to look great for your age. That is why treating your skin is so important, more so then using anti-wrinkle or fillers.

We have made the decision to remove PDO Threads from our list of services at Perfectly Smooth.
After reviewing and chatting with our clients. We’ve taken their feedback onboard, and decided to stop offering this procedure.
We are by no means suggesting this is a bad treatment, and some liked their results, HOWEVER, assessment of treatments and their outcomes is always important as a practitioner, and we have found it no longer suits our clients needs when we offer other modalities that achieve better, lasting results, with less downtime, less bruising, is more cost affective and less risk of complications.
If you love this treatment, we can refer you to some awesome colleagues who perform this procedure.

Sam Ford at his first Therapy Dog job today. He’s smashing it! ❤️
This Monday on the Podcast, Tenderness for Nurses, I get to chat with two of my fave colleagues; .au
This is a really honest and great chat about nursing, the pathways you need to take to work overseas, the aesthetic space in the USA and just general chitchat about life, nursing and self care.
If you head to Apple or Spotify and download Tenderness for Nurses, the episode drops Monday morning.

Enjoy listening to one of the top Nursing leaders in the aesthetic space. 💖
Non-surgical rhinoplasty in now available with our NP Bek.
This is a high risk area to treat. Bek has been study NSR and uses a technique that teaches.
The results vary from person to person and after consultation, some clients will find they are not suitable for this treatment. A consultation is necessary prior to treatment with a cooling off period prior to this procedure.
Consent was given to use these images.
Today on the Podcast I chat with Evonne Smyth, principle lawyer for QNMU Law.
Apologies for my brain malfunction when introducing Evonne ( just keeping it real!🤦🏻♀️) we talk about all things nursing and the law.
For nurses, this episode is one not to miss!

Today on Tenderness For Nurses, we chat with Jodie Gamble.
Jodie is an expert in mediation, using it daily in her position as the Conference Registrar, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Brisbane Registry.
Her advice around work place conflict resolution is absolutely worth listening to and I personally have started using EAR for my consultations in a more present way, and have found both my clients and I reaping the benefits.

Seriously!! Peels make you feel like a caterpillar before it turns in to a butterfly. 🦋

We chat with our lovely client about how she found the @rejuran.anz treatment. As we initially treated the whole face, she did find she had needle fatigue by the end of the treatment. However, this time she tolerated it really well, and you could see the product being absorbed before our eyes! It is recommended you have 3 treatments and then a top up every 6 months to yearly. It is a fantastic treatment for your skin, but also for those of you who don’t want to have volumising products injected.
