Bladder pain can be endo pain.

Did you know, up to 80% of people with endometriosis can have associated bladder irritation or pain? Bladder pain or irritation isn’t usually caused by endometrial deposits themselves.

More common causes are:
-Irritation in the nerves that supply the bladder - the bladder, uterus and bowel share the same nerve supply (mainly S2,3 and 4), so irritation in one organ can affect the other organs for some people.
- Adhesions or scar tissue - endometrial deposits and scar tissue around the bladder can put strains and tensions on the bladder that can create irritation
- Other issues such as infections or inflammation

Symptoms of bladder irritation or pain can include:
-Urgency (needing to p*e now!)
-Frequency
-Pain with urination
-Pelvic floor tension
-Constipation
-Lower abdominal pain and/or p***c bone pain
-Difficulty emptying the bladder fully
-Difficulty starting and stopping urination
-Leg pain
-Bloating

The bladder is a very sensitive organ. When you have nerve irritation or distortion of the bladder, you can have bladder symptoms, even if you’ve had surgery and all the endometriosis has been removed.

Having bladder pain doesn’t always mean you need another surgery. There are so many other ways to support your bladder if you have a better understanding of your unique endo story.

We work with you to understand your story and address the sources of pain that can be managed with hands-on treatment, exercise and understanding your body.

Women are NOT small men. As women who support women through the trickier aspects of women’s health, we’ve seen such a huge shift in the way that we recognise and support women's health issues.

Our passion for supporting women with the more complicated aspects of women’s health - pregnancy, post-partum, pelvic pain and pelvic health - motivates us and drives us. We cherish the freedom that increased social, economic, cultural, and political power of women has given us.

As mothers and aunts we want the same freedom for our daughters and nieces and all the women who come after us. In fact, we want more!

We want to support women to continue marching forward. We want to see women celebrate and love and deeply understand their wonderful bodies. Being a woman is something we want all women to celebrate and cherish as we forge our own paths through this one wild, precious life.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality, which includes equality in healthcare.

Our clinic helps women and girls make informed decisions about their health through whole body care. Join the fight to !

Endometriosis is an ancient disease…and a modern one too. Symptoms are too often dismissed and diagnosis is delayed. Only awareness can change that.

Do you have endometriosis, or know someone who does? In Australia, the condition affects at least one in 7 girls and women and those assigned female at birth.

If you have symptoms or think something isn’t right, it’s okay to ask questions or get a second or even a third opinion. It’s your body and you know it better than anyone.

At Pivot Osteopathy and Pregnancy and Beyond Osteopathy, we work with many people who want to address the muscle pain and tension associated with endo.

If you’ve received osteo treatment for endo, let us know how it helped!
