Meet Hadley.
She loves to dance, play with her dolls, watch Bluey and spend time with her cousins. At just three years old, Hadley was diagnosed with hearing loss, a shock that turned her family’s world upside down.
At first, Hadley had hearing aids, but as her hearing declined drastically, these were no longer an option for her. In September 2024, Hadley received bilateral cochlear implants and 12 months on she is thriving. Thanks to incredible technology, therapy and support, she’s able to sing, learn, and live life to the fullest.
This Loud Shirt Day, your donation helps give children like Hadley the chance to grow up with the same opportunities as their peers. 💬

👂 October is Audiology Awareness Month!

This year we’re highlighting the EARS protocol. Simple steps to protect your hearing every day:
🔹 Ear plugs – use them at concerts, festivals or with noisy equipment
🔹 Avoid loud sounds – move away from speakers or noisy places when possible
🔹 Reduce the level – turn down the volume on headphones, TVs and devices
🔹 Shorten the time – limit how long you spend in noisy environments

By following EARS, you can help protect your hearing for life. 💙

💙It’s time for another 'Meet the Team'!
Each month we spotlight someone from Hear and Say who helps children and families hear, listen and speak.

This month, meet Tania! Part of our Business Support Team 💙

💼 Tania – What is your role at Hear and Say and how long have you been here?
I work with the Business Support Team and I have been at Hear and Say for over 11 years.

🌟 What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the interaction with families. Watching the little babies come in and then following their progress to mainstream school, is amazing.

💭 What’s a favourite memory from your time at Hear and Say?
OMG. Too many to mention! Working with Dimity is always a highlight. Watching how the LSL and audiology teams work together to help a child listen and speak never gets boring. It is fascinating!!!

Every month we will be profiling a different Hear and Say staff member.
Thank you so much, Tania, for being this month's participant! 💙

This International Week of the Deaf, we’re celebrating the theme: “No human rights without sign language rights.” 🤟

At Hear and Say, we believe every family deserves the right to choose the communication path that best fits their child. Whether that’s using sign language, spoken language through hearing technology such as cochlear implants and hearing aids, or a combination of both.

Every child’s journey is unique, and supporting families to make informed, empowered choices is at the heart of what we do 💙

Because recognising sign language rights is part of recognising every child’s right to access communication... in whatever form works best for them.
