The morning session unpacked the incoming AML/CTF reforms and what they will mean for day-to-day practice, equipping agents with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate the new compliance landscape. The afternoon shifted focus to ethical practice, exploring decision-making, professional conduct and consumer protection in today’s market.

The REIQ is excited to announce its return to the national real estate body, Real Estate Institute of Australia - REIA from 1 July 2026.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said the time was right to rejoin as a committed State Institute member, with the transformed model and future strategy of the REIA representing high impact and value for the REIQ and in turn, the REIQ’s members.

In anticipation of rejoining, national awards pathways will be available to eligible Queensland winners of aligned awards categories at the national awards (REIA National Awards for Excellence - NAFE) and auctioneering competition (Australasian Auctioneering Championships - AUSTROS) this year.

With the events fast-approaching in May, the REIQ has advised our eligible local winners of the good news.
