Without Farmers we have no fresh food! Please look at this video created by Farmers Pick and consider supporting the farmers directly. Simply buy your fresh fruit and vege from your local farmers markets or get them delivered by one of the many small businesses delivering food boxes.

We can all make a positive difference to supporting our kids futures. We need farmers! So let’s support them 🩷

I hope you had a fabulous Easter long weekend, whatever you did! We enjoyed our annual camping trip which is always lots of fun!

It’s always a great time to reflect how I’ll keep active during the cooler months.

Last year my beautiful friends Ali and Em decided to move our bodies more so committed to the Active April Challenge! It simply involved us moving for 30min each day for 30 days - and sharing what we’d done!

I loved the commitment, support and accountability so have decided to do it again this April. If you’re keen to join me, please let me know so we can support each other to move our mood this month which is perfect timing as it’s also Stress Awareness month.

Comment below if you’d like to move your body and mood this April and I’ll start a lil group where we can support eachother!

I kickstarted with a walk along the beach. If you didn’t start yesterday then simply start today!!

This is an interesting article on peri-menopause. There’s lots of heated debate (pun intended)! by professionals on if we are over or under medicating and if women are getting the support they need. It’s a major life change and certainly different for everyone. What works for some doesn’t work for others and every person experiences different symptoms, frequency and severity.

What we do know is that we need to talk about peri-menopause MORE. We need more research, more conversations and more awareness!

I’ll share a few tips on natural ways to support the transition through peri-menopause but also understand that every body is different and medications can also improve quality of life for many women.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-03-06/australian-researchers-debate-menopause-health-treatment-lancet/103549442?fbclid=IwAR1P5purXzKDHWljdPrjZ6_rbXfX4KD0ZVLwaSRFSSYg938fDsfJIUH9Sis_aem_AQVvqXTSGoz5wpawMNnRUCstJwGJEi-jJA2x9coTO21ImQhb2OHdqoAmnzB3ewfhhAYmaOhQL7etHY9p59x1oiwU

Menopause has become "over-medicalised" and treated like a "disease", Australian researchers are arguing, saying some women are getting unnecessary treatment. But it's a controversial opinion.

Following on from my previous post, here’s a very quick and easy dinner with the vegge we bought from the markets. (I know the meal looks simple but this is real life after a big day and the homemade tomato salsa was yummy)!

I calculated that the vegge only cost $3 in total and the free-range chicken tenderloins were $12. So $15 divided by 4 (I made extra for leftover lunch the next day) so approx $4 per serve. {Plus I have soo many tomatoes, carrots and zucchini left to use}!

Yet another reason to support your local farmers. Did you know that the big two (I’ll let you guess) have recorded RECORD PROFITS amid a rise in the cost of living and there are now SIX inquiries into the pricing practices of Australia’s supermarket sector? While they report record profits, farmers and families are struggling. What’s worse is that dozens of farmers are walking off the land.

If you can’t get to the markets (I understand it’s difficult for some in regards to location/access etc) check if there’s a small local business who buys directly from the farmer to deliver fresh fruit/vege boxes directly to your door. Most places now allow you to create your own boxes of fruit/vege which gives you MORE choice and convenience! Plus you can often order free-range eggs, grass-fed beef, homemade jams and honey straight from the bee hives 🐝

Ps. Yes, I know most farmers provide produce directly to the big chains (and not markets), so we need to support them by ensuring they don’t get screwed over.
