Celebrating the people who make recovery possible. 💚

At Carinya House, Jess is known not just for the role she holds, but for the way she shows up and supports people every day.

One of our residents shared:

“There were days I wanted to give up. Days recovery felt too hard. But Jess would sit across from me and say, “Look how far you’ve come.””

Jess supports residents with hope and belief, something many people need most during their darkest moments.

“She believes in us sometimes before we believe in ourselves.”

And that sense of hope and dedication has helped change someone’s life.

“Because of her support the mentoring, the guidance, the consistency I’ve grown.

I’ve made progress in my recovery.

I’ve started setting goals again.”

Thank you, Jess, for the care and encouragement you bring to our community every day. 💙💚

Harmony Week starts today🧡!

It's a time to reflect on what it means to belong in multicultural Australia and how we can help each other feel welcome, included and respected.

If you’re looking for a simple way to take part this week, start with one small action:
👋 Say hello and introduce yourself
🧡 Include someone who might be feeling left out
👂 Listen with respect when people share their experiences
✅ Speak up (safely) if you see racism or exclusion

We’ll be sharing some of the Harmony Week activities happening across our teams over the coming posts, so stay tuned! 💙

A throwback to Employee Appreciation Day, when teams across our services took time to celebrate the people who make our work possible. 💙💚

In Cairns, the team didn’t let news of a pending weather event dampen their spirits.

A group walked into town to meet colleagues for frozen yogurt, sharing a few laughs and stories of appreciation for each other and the work we do together.

Meanwhile in Toowoomba, the office welcomed some very special fluffy visitors—chicks! 🐥

The unexpected guests were stars of the day with both the team and our day group, bringing plenty of smiles and creating a real buzz across the office.

A little bit of fun is part of supporting the important work we do every day.

Our Caboolture team recently partnered with Australian artist Lauren Rogers, whose work is guided by her Ngarabul roots and deep connection to Country. 💚

Created especially for our service, ‘Held’ reflects connection, healing and the shared experiences that shape our lives.

The artwork honours the courage of those choosing wellbeing and balance.

Through connection to Country, community and each other, we are held. 💙

This International Women’s Day, we’re reflecting on this year’s theme, “Give to Gain.” 🟣 A reminder that supporting one another through understanding, opportunity and care brings everyone benefits.

For Melissa, Team Leader at headspace Southport, the work is about creating spaces where people feel safe to grow. After nearly two decades in the sector, she shared a powerful reminder that in a demanding field, caring for ourselves is just as important as caring for others.🟢

As she reflected through a favourite quote:

“Rest can feel like a risk when the world is aching. But exhaustion and disembodiment will not save us… Don’t abandon yourself.” — Cole Arthur Riley

As the Team Leader at our Contact Centre, Jill understands another kind of balance, juggling family life and a career while supporting people who often reach out during difficult moments. 🔵

After 19 years with Lives Lived Well, she says workplace flexibility and understanding can make a meaningful difference for women managing multiple roles.

Their reflections remind us that when workplaces invest in people, through empathy, flexibility and support, we create environments where everyone can thrive.

Special thank you to Melissa and Jill for generously sharing their perspectives with us this International Women’s Day.

Real words from a real recovery journey 💚

"Nana Muru helped me gain clarity and self-worth."

That's what one person had to say about their experience with our Nana Muru mobile detox service. It supports people in the Shoalhaven region to withdraw from alcohol and other drugs safely, in the comfort of their own home and community, with the guidance of a registered nurse and their GP.

For this person, that support made all the difference:
"With the help of the Nana Muru mobile detox, I was able to detox… in a safe environment with immense support from Lives Lived Well."

And the care didn't stop there.
"The support I received not only throughout my detox, but well into the New Year, was paramount to getting and staying sober."

Having experienced other detox programs before, they were clear about what set Nana Muru apart:
"Nana Muru was, by far, the best detox experience I've had."

And perhaps most powerfully of all:
"I cannot recommend Lives Lived Well/Nana Muru more. They truly changed my life."

We offer many pathways to recovery. Get in touch with our team to find the support that’s right for you. 💙

Our team recently attended International Family Drug Support Day 2026 — a day that recognises the vital role families play in supporting loved ones affected by alcohol and other drugs.

This year’s theme, See the Person, Not the Drug, calls on all of us to challenge stigma and recognise the people behind the label.

Nearly 200 people registered for the event that brought together leaders, researchers and advocates to strengthen the case for harm minimisation, evidence-based responses and greater focus on prevention.

"Any family anywhere, regardless of background, economic and other circumstances, can be affected by drugs.

We hope this annual event will reach members of the community and change some of the negative attitudes that exist." Tony Trimingham, Founder OAM, Patron and Founder of Family Drug Support.

We’re proud to stand alongside families, listen to their experiences and continue advocating for responses grounded in evidence, dignity and care.

Today is International Family Drug Support Day.

A day to recognise the strength of families affected by alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and the importance of supporting them.

This year’s message calls us to See the Person, Not the Drug. To look beyond labels, prejudice and stereotypes, and recognise families and their loved ones for who they truly are.

At Lives Lived Well, we support families and loved ones impacted by AOD use. We also work with parents who are struggling with alcohol or drugs, helping them reduce the impact on their children and create a safer, healthier home environment.

If you or someone you care about needs support, we’re here. 💙

Learn more via our website or call 1300 727 957.

📞 Need immediate support? Family Drug Support’s 24/7 helpline is available on 1300 368 186.
