As Movember comes to a close, we want to shine a light on Paul, the Community Awareness and Engagement Coordinator at headspace Caloundra.

When asked about looking after mental health, Paul says: “It can be difficult sometimes to reach out for support. It makes it easier when you create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing and coming prepared with some notes of what you'd like to say. .” 📝💬

For Paul, wellbeing comes down to healthy habits and routines — exercise, eating well, and plenty of surfing! 🏄🥗.

“We are humble, human and full of hope.”
These aren’t just words, they’re the heart of who we are 💚

To be humble means meeting people where they are, without judgement. Every story is unique, and every journey matters.

To be human is to recognise that we all face challenges, and that compassion, understanding and connection can make all the difference.

And to be full of hope, believing in the power of change... no matter how tough the road has been. Because with the right support, recovery is always possible 💙

We are humble, human and full of hope, and proud to walk alongside those who remind us what resilience truly looks like.

Our Clinical Services Manager, Amanda, was recently interviewed about how Lives Lived Well can support young people during Schoolies week.

“We recommend Schoolies watch out for friends and know they can come to us if they need support".

The interview also featured Drug Arm, Rosie’s Friends on the Street and Red Frogs — organisations working together to help young people celebrate safely.

As Schoolies begins, we want young people to enjoy their well-earned time off, while staying aware of what’s happening around them.

And if you ever need support, we’ll be here.

Ahead of International Men’s Day, we sat down with Andrew, a Peer Support Worker at Dianella Cottage, to chat about men’s mental health and the power of open conversations. 👥💬

As a local in the Lithgow and Katoomba area, he notes that many men growing up in rural areas may not experience healthy male relationships which often lead to a lack of emotional intelligence and unhealthy coping patterns.

And that's why early education for young men is essential. Teaching them how to recognise and talk about their feelings can support healthier emotional development, and potentially help break long-standing cycles of substance use and intimate family-based violence.

Andrew also notes promising local initiatives aimed at educating young men about how social media can distort ideas of masculinity. The hope is that these conversations will continue to grow and take hold in schools and communities.

Andrew’s passion for building trust and creating conversations that matter reflects the strength of community connection. His work shows how supporting one another regardless of background is key to healthier and more inclusive communities.

Thanks for sharing your story, Andrew.

Sometimes, a wake-up call comes when you least expect it. For this client, it happened in court.

“Hooked on ice, things went out of control, in trouble. I found myself in court and finally asked for the help I so badly needed.”

Our Wyla staff welcome this client with kindness, care, and no judgement.

“For the first time, I didn’t feel like I was ‘just a drugo. I felt seen and supported.”

“...Thanks to you all, I have found myself again and am looking forward to actually living a happy, healthy life again.” 💚

13–19 November is Trans Awareness Week - a time to celebrate the wonderful trans and gender diverse community, while raising awareness about the challenges they continue to face.

It’s also the perfect moment to learn more about gender diversity, reflect on our role as allies, and understand why inclusion matters more than ever. 💙💚🏳️🌈

At Lives Lived Well, we create safe, respectful, and welcoming spaces across all our offices, programs, and residential services. Everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.

This year’s Remembrance Day service at the Lives Lived Well Veterans’ and Families’ Wellbeing Hubs in both Adelaide and Caboolture were a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.

Held on Tuesday, 11 November, the service brought our community together in reflection and respect. The morning began with an Acknowledgment of Traditional Owners, followed by moving tributes from WO2 Dale and Veteran Bill Bates, who read “In Flanders Fields.” Guests were then invited to lay rosemary near the wreath — a powerful symbol of remembrance.

At 11am, the minute’s silence united everyone in quiet reflection.

After the service, guests shared coffee and stories, a beautiful reminder of connection, gratitude, and community.

Lest we forget.
