Classes will be a Yin/Yang style of yoga. The yang style is a more dynamic sequence of postures and the Yin postures are held longer targeting the deep muscle tissue.Yin Yoga targets the subtle body parts including fascia, connective tissue, joints & ligaments. You hold poses for longer, flooding particular body parts with an increased supply of nutrient rich blood. These Yin postures are all passive. Nothing hip or shoulder bearing. Prepare to dive deeper into you and your practice, working with meridian lines to promote homeostasis, the ideal state of balance for healing. There are also the mental benefits from simply taking the time to slow down, breath and be.Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility. Yang styles of yoga are those with rhythm and repetition.
