Heart of Australia is a rural health program that embodies the most innovative approach to frontline specialist medical service delivery. Heart of Australia delivers monthly specialist medical investigation and treatment clinics to rural and remote communities across Queensland - breaking the grip of distance that denies rural and remote-area Australians easy access to specialist services. Currently operating in Queensland with a planned expansion to other states in the foreseeable future.

Today is World Lung Day, and this year’s theme of “healthy lungs means a healthy life” is a timely reminder of why access to lung health services can truly save lives.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Australia. The new National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) which launched in July aims to detect it early and ultimately save lives.

As the official provider for the Commonwealth Government for mobile lung cancer screening in rural and remote Australian communities, we are passionate about bringing the NLCSP to every far-flung corner of our country to ensure equitable access to the program for all.

We’ll be starting out in Western Australia in just under two months, and are looking forward to working closely with those communities and join the fight against lung cancer.

Last weekend was a busy one for our Heart Team, with specialist clinics held in Emerald, Dalby, and Biloela! Our mobile clinical trial vehicle - HARI - made a special appearance in Dalby to join the cardiology and endocrinology services offered to the local community.

Some great coverage from the It's a Bloke Thing Luncheon the other week where it was announced that we’ll be partnering to bring life-saving prostate cancer blood testing to the bush.

The team from It’s a Bloke Thing do incredible work providing education, supporting research, and funding specialised nurses, to ensure better health outcomes for men and prostate health. We can’t wait to start working with them to deliver this vital service to rural and regional towns across Queensland.

We were so proud to attend the Its a Bloke Thing 2025 Luncheon yesterday where it was announced that Heart of Australia will be partnering with them to bring mobile PSA blood testing to rural and remote communities.

Thank you also to the Crisafulli government who announced their commitment of $400,000 to support this new program. This marks a new era in cancer screening and we are proud to work with like-minded organisations to see better health outcomes for country Queenslanders.
