WE’RE HIRING: Maintenance Fitter

Rockpress is currently seeking a Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter for a full-time position at our Acacia Ridge facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a key role in maintaining the performance and reliability of our equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality manufacturing outcomes.

About You:

You are a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter with:
🔸A relevant Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Fitter/Turner)
🔸Solid hands-on experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and excellent problem-solving skills
🔸Previous experience with Trumpf and CNC machinery (lasers, press brake, punch press) is highly regarded
🔸The ability to work autonomously, multi-task, and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines
🔸A commitment to safe work practices and high attention to detail
🔸Strong teamwork and communication skills
🔸Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, are an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

🔹Maintaining and servicing workshop equipment to ensure optimal performance
🔹Carrying out manufacturing and fabrication-related maintenance tasks
🔹Working both independently and as part of a cohesive team
🔹Successfully passing pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol screening

🕒 Hours: Monday to Thurs, 7am – 3:30pm, Friday 7am – 1pm
💰 Pay: $40/hr to $56/hr (depending on experience & qualifications)

This is a casual role with the opportunity to go permanent after 3 months for the right candidate.

Rockpress has made it to the big screen! 🤩

In late 2022, Rockpress was honoured to collaborate with Legendary Entertainment on their new upcoming film Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.

The collaboration saw Rockpress assist in the fabrication of a monumental set piece - a stunning spacecraft that is featured in multiple scenes throughout the thrilling film. It was an absolute pleasure being a part of a feature film and we look forward to gracing the big screen once again on other projects!

Make sure to go and catch Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire in theatres Thursday 28th March.

💥 PROJECT COMPLETION 💥

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the Gunungai Drive Bridge project.

Our scope encompassed both the supply and fabrication of all structural steel components that form this impressive structure, in addition to the application of the protective coating system, with valuable assistance from our friends at Tranzblast Coating Services. Furthermore, we devoted meticulous attention to crafting and polishing the stainless-steel handrails and balustrades that perfectly complement the bridge's design.

Throughout this endeavour, Rockpress maintained a close and productive collaboration with our client, Doval Constructions Ltd whose integral role ensured the seamless delivery of the project to Logan City Council.

We take immense pride in our contribution to this project, which serves as a testament to the harmonious blend of expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence.
