Lauren Prideaux - Myotherapist

Lauren Prideaux - Myotherapist I help guide people to a sense of wholeness within themselves to fulfil their life's desires. www.massagewithlt.com

In my work I use embodiment practices, somatic tools, massage and women's circles to bring a sense of calm and readiness to their body and mind.

If you have sensitive skin or a history of reacting to products, it’s completely normal to feel anxious before a treatment.
Your skin deserves to feel safe...and so do you.

Before we begin any session, we always take a moment to talk through:
🍃Your allergies
🍃Past reactions
🍃Any skin conditions you’re managing
🍃Ingredients you want to avoid

I use simple, gentle, low-irritant products.
Nothing heavily scented or filled with unnecessary extras.

And if you’d like to check the ingredient list before anything touches your skin, we go through it together.

Because supporting your body means supporting your skin, too.

And in this space, your comfort always comes first.

One of the most powerful moments in my work happens after the session.
When someone slowly sits up, breathes out, and realises just how long it’s been since they truly stopped.

Sometimes they’re silent.
Sometimes they become emotional.
Sometimes they say they feel like they’ve finally come home to their body.

And honestly?
Most people don’t want to get off the table at all.

One beautiful client described it perfectly:
“This feels like women’s business.”

A space where you can soften, let go, and be held without needing to perform, rush or explain yourself.

If your body has been asking for a pause…this is your reminder that it’s safe to listen.

Let’s clear something up, because this one gets repeated everywhere:
“No matter what, drink heaps of water after your massage to flush out toxins.”

Here’s the truth:
Your body already knows exactly how to take care of itself.
You do not need to down litres of water after a session for it to ‘work’.

Hydration is great. Of course.
But you don’t need special water, magic water, or a post-massage hydration ritual.

After your session, these simple things are more than enough:
✨ Drink as you normally do
✨ Eat normally
✨ Take a gentle walk
✨ Let your body settle and reset

You don’t need to force anything.
Your system is intelligent, resilient and beautifully capable...even if you’re someone who barely drinks water (yes, I have clients who admit this and still function just fine!).

Myotherapy is about supporting your body, not overwhelming it with rules.

Let’s settle this once and for all…

You do not need to shave your legs before a Myotherapy session.

In fact, the only people who ever apologise for hairy legs are women —
and the men?
…well they are hardly going to apologise for hairy legs 😉😆

And the sweat thing?
Truly doesn’t bother me.
You’re a human body, not a showroom model.

If you’ve raced from the gym, straight from work, or from school drop-off chaos:
🙋‍♀️ I’ve got hot towels
🙋‍♀️ I’ve got zero judgement
🙋‍♀️ And I’ve got a whole space downstairs where you can shower if you want to

Your body is welcome exactly as it is.
Hairy, sweaty, rushed, real.

Just show up — I’ll take care of the rest.

If you’re feeling nervous about hands-on treatment...especially if you’ve been poked, prodded, or pushed too hard in the past - you’re not alone.

Your body remembers those experiences.

And that’s why every session begins with a conversation about what feels safe for you.
We explore things like:
🫶Areas of your body that are no-go zones
🫶Any past experiences with physical therapy
🫶What touch feels supportive vs. overwhelming
🫶Whether you prefer light pressure, deep pressure, stretching, or gentle technique

And here’s the part most people don’t know:
Myotherapy doesn’t have to hurt to work.

We can apply gentle, slow, nurturing techniques.
We can work through a towel.
You can stay fully clothed if that feels best.
Your comfort sets the pace. ALWAYS!

My goal is simple:
To help your body feel safe enough to soften, release, and come back into balance… without pushing past your limits.

If you’ve never seen a Myotherapist before, the first session can feel like a big unknown... but it doesn’t need to.

Before any hands-on work begins, I spend time understanding your body’s story.

That includes:
❤️A few simple medical questions
❤️What you’re feeling and where
❤️What aggravates or eases your pain
❤️What you’ve tried before — what helped, what didn’t
❤️Your lifestyle, patterns, and history

From there, we build a plan together.
It’s always collaborative, never rushed, and designed around what your body can handle on that day.

And the best part?
You don’t need to prepare a thing.
If you have scans or reports, bring them. But if you don’t, that’s completely okay.
Your body gives us the information we need.

The goal of your first session is simple:
To help you feel safe, understood, and supported… while we begin uncovering what your body needs to come back into balance.

Have you got a question? Send me a DM and I'll answer it for you.

So many people ask whether Myotherapy is really backed by science... and the answer is yes… but it’s also more nuanced than that.

Myotherapy is evidence-informed care:
meaning we draw on the latest research, physiology and clinical training and we take in everything your unique body is telling us.

Because pain isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Your lived experience, lifestyle, injury history, stress levels and the way your body responds all matter.

In every session, I’m looking at:
🍃What your body is experiencing today
🍃How your pain shows up functionally, emotionally and physically
🍃Which techniques will support your system (not overwhelm it)
🍃How to treat your pain in a way that feels safe, effective and specific to you

It’s science, yes.
But it’s also your body’s story. And when the two work together, healing becomes possible in a way that feels grounded, gentle and personalised.

If you’ve been searching for a therapy that actually listens to your body… this is it.

15/12/2025

If you’ve ever wondered what a Myotherapist really does, here’s the heart of it:
A Myotherapist listens deeply to what’s happening in your body and creates a treatment plan designed just for you...not a template, not a routine, but a tailored approach to help you feel better in your everyday life.

Using evidence-informed physical therapy techniques, the goal is simple:
🙏 help your body move better
🙏 reduce pain and tension
🙏 restore balance in your system
🙏 support you to feel grounded, safe and understood

It’s hands-on support that considers your whole lived experience. Not just your symptoms.

If you’ve been feeling out of balance, tight, tense or stuck in pain… Myotherapy may be the gentle, personalised care your body has been asking for.

Your body keeps the score — even when your mind is trying to power through.

Emotional stress doesn’t always show up as tears or tantrums. Sometimes it whispers through your jaw, your gut, your breath, or those random little niggles that just won’t quit.

When you start to notice these signals (instead of pushing them down), your body can finally start to exhale — and heal.

✨ I’ve got space this weekend for anyone needing a reset:
🧡 Friday afternoon
🧡 Saturday sessions available
🧡 Private Health rebates

You don’t have to carry it all alone.
Let’s shift it, gently.

Send me a DM or book through the link in bio 💆‍♀️
