Fun fact no one asked for:

Burning incense indoors can pollute the air at levels similar to, or worse than, cigarette smoke.

Studies have found incense smoke can release benzene, formaldehyde and fine particles that irritate lungs and fuel inflammation. Especially in closed rooms. Especially over time.

So if you’ve got an invisible illness, lung condition, or an immune system that already runs hot…
that “calming” smell might actually be doing the opposite.

Scans might show nothing.
Air might look clean.
But the body still cops it.

Invisible triggers. Invisible damage. Same old story. 🙃

A study published in the journal “Environmental Chemistry Letters” in 2015 concluded that burning incense indoors can expose individuals to pollutants comparable to or even higher than cigarette smoke, particularly regarding certain toxins like benzene and formaldehyde.

The results obtained for benzene, PM10 and PNC, showed a strong negative influence on air quality when these products were used indoors. Various incense sticks gave completely different benzene results: from a small increase of the benzene concentration in the air, just slightly above the background...
