π€ Embrace the Evening Ritual: Creating Bonds and Serenity for Baby and Parents π«
οΈ Nourishing Feeding Time: Begin with a long feeding session, starting from one side and offering the second side if your baby still seeks nourishment. This feed may take up to an hour, with about 20 minutes of deep drinking as your baby finds comfort in sucking and swallowing to enjoy a full meal. Embrace this intimate time together.
οΈ Refreshing Outdoor Stroll: After feeding, take a 40-minute walk in the fresh air with your baby. Initially, your little one may doze off, but as they grow, they will become more alert, captivated by the sights and sounds of nature. The benefits of fresh air, the gentle sway of trees, and the melodies of birds singing stimulate your baby's senses and contribute to a serene atmosphere.
οΈ Quality Time for Parents: As your baby peacefully sleeps, indulge in some precious together time. Cherish moments of connection, conversation, or simply relishing each other's presence. It's a chance to nurture your bond amidst the calmness of the evening.
οΈ Renewed Feeding and Shower Time: When your baby wakes, provide another long feeding session. Afterward, it's an ideal opportunity for the partner to enjoy a refreshing shower, followed by Mum passing the baby to join in the intimate bonding experience. The warm embrace against a loving heartbeat can be overwhelmingly positive, fostering a sense of security. If bathing is preferred, it's also an enjoyable experience for all. After drying, gently massage your baby's skin with coconut oil, nurturing their senses and reducing issues like cradle cap.
οΈ Precious After-Dinner Moments: As the wake time draws to a close, dress your baby and savor the 'after-dinner mint' from Mum before swaddling and cuddling for about 10-20 minutes. This special time, preferably spent with the partner (away from the milk source), allows for deeper connection and relaxation. As your baby grows, it can be an opportunity to introduce a bottle as the 'after-dinner mint,' using expressed breast milk if Mum has utilised the Hakaa for some Expressed Breast Milk (EBM).
