The South Brisbane Day Hospital (formerly the South Bank Day Hospital) opened in 2014 due to the generous support from the Sylvia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation. While most of the procedures at the hospital are eye related and performed by our own ophthalmologists, the facilities are also utilised by other specialists including MOHS surgeons and maxillofacial specialists. These standards ensure that patient safety and risk prevention strategies are in place during your stay. The hospital is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Queensland Eye Institute with all surplus profits going directly into the work of the Foundation.
