-         🧠 The Power of Self-Talk in Sports Psychology
-         Self-talk is what we say to ourselves, either out loud or internally. We all do it, and for athletes, it can be a powerful skill. There are a few types of self-talk: positive and motivational, like "I got this!", or instructional, like "move your feet."
-         Our internal monologue can help us stay focused, evoke positive emotions, and improve our ex*****on of motor tasks. However, it's crucial to monitor for negative self-talk, such as "you're slow" or "that's horrible," which can harm performance and increase anxiety.
-         At the Olympic Games, athletes use positive self-talk to maintain their confidence and focus, demonstrating the critical role of sports psychology in achieving peak performance.

🏅 At the Paris Olympic Games, athletes know that it's impossible to predict everything that could happen. That's where the concept of "predict the unpredictable" comes into play.
- In sports psychology, this means being mentally prepared for things not going exactly as planned. A great example is Brazilian pole vaulter Fabiane Murer, who lost her pole just before the finals. This unexpected incident threw off her concentration and affected her performance.
-   To avoid such setbacks, athletes train to stay focused and adapt to unexpected challenges. Being prepared for the unpredictable helps them maintain their composure and perform at their best, no matter what surprises come their way.

Music and performance
- 🎶 Music can be a powerful ally for athletes at the Paris Olympic Games, both in preparation and, depending on the sport, even during their performance.
- In sport psychology, music is known to boost motivation through its rhythm and lyrics. It’s an excellent way to block out distractions and get into the zone before competing. Plus, music can evoke positive emotions by triggering memories associated with specific songs.
- A famous example is runner Haile Gebrselassie, who broke a world record in the 2000m race by syncing his running cadence with the beat of 'Scatman.' Haile often played this song during his races to help maintain his pace and focus.
- So next time you see an athlete with headphones on, they might be using their favorite tunes to get ready to shine! 🎧🏅

🏅 Have you noticed during the Olympic Games in Paris, especially before events like swimming, skating, and gymnastics, that athletes engage in specific behaviors?

These are known as ‘pre-performance routines.’

🏟️ In sports psychology, these routines are essential for athletes performing ‘closed tasks’—sports that rely solely on their own actions rather than reacting to others. The goal is to help athletes enter the ‘zone,’ where they can concentrate, focus, and reach their optimal arousal level for peak performance.

🎶 Some athletes listen to music, others use self-talk or visualization techniques. You might even see some who slap themselves, jump around, or take deep breaths. Each of these actions helps them prepare mentally and physically to give their best performance.

✨ **Understanding Domestic Violence** ✨

Hey everyone! 🌟 Today, let's shed light on an important topic – **Domestic Violence**. 💔

3. **Verbal Abuse**: Persistent yelling, derogatory remarks, and excessive criticism.
4. **Financial Abuse**: Controlling finances, restricting access to money, or sabotaging employment.
5. **Sexual Abuse**: Any non-consensual sexual contact or behavior.
6. **Technological Abuse**: Using technology to monitor, harass, or control.

Many women are receiving an ADHD diagnosis in adulthood, often while seeking evaluations for their children. Unfortunately, there is a misconception that ADHD is more common in boys, leading to frequent misdiagnosis in girls. Boys often display more disruptive hyperactivity symptoms, while girls may present with the inattentive type.

Women with inattentive ADHD may have struggled throughout their lives with symptoms such as:

Being repeatedly called out on careless mistakes
Difficulties multitasking or managing multiple relationships
Issues with following deadlines
Procrastinating and rushing to complete tasks at the last minute
Loosing focus during meetings or conversations
Troubles staying organized at school, home, or work
Frequently misplacing items like phones or glasses
Missing appointments or forgetting to return calls
Trouble making decisions or developing effective strategies

It’s important to note that these symptoms are just indicators and not a diagnosis. If you are seeking a full ADHD assessment, there are psychologists who specialize in this area. Understanding and addressing these differences is crucial for proper diagnosis and support.
