So since the injuries at work during the last quarter of this year - I've been getting back into painting minis on Twitch as a way to keep my brain busy and as a tool to work on my memory recall and also slowly work on getting creative juices flowing (Plus it helps with getting over the embarrassment of having developed a twitch and stutter due to the head injury). Once I finish the minis, starting to learn some photography and how to use Photo and Designer for visual work. Happy to say - feeling pretty proud for a first time go around. Couple of things I wanna work on - but hey - road to recovery isn't easy 😊 hopefully 2025 is better though coz this year's been rough as f**k 🧐🤔😅

This year been getting back into an old loved hobby of mine - painting minis. Admittedly this year has been kinda s**t - with the main s**t part being to have a 40kg stell truss fall on my head 6 weeks ago......its stopped me from being creative, struggling to do music production or lighting production......it has left me with severe depression and speech issues. It's left me with emotional instability and high levels of anxiety. Sometimes I can't process thoughts entirely even now, plus a whole myriad of other issues.
In gaming - I'd zone out - only to find my character died. Couldn't do music production because I couldn't remember what key, genre, tempo, anything. Even staring at Ableton I couldn't do it. Couldn't do movies coz I didn't know what I was watching half the time. But this hobby is different.
I didn't have to worry about losing a character or pi***ng someone off in league coz I zoned for a few minutes or worry about what the story was in a movie. I didn't have to think about what's the next step. Just glove on - grab a brush, grab some paint, go. Chuck on some music or YouTube and we good. No guessing what I was doing - if pain on brush, and same paint in wet pallete and same paint is fresh on model - continue with paint on model or next model in the squad.
This all being said - it's helped with a lot since the beginning of the year and still tremendously helps and is satisfying to me now. And so I present my latest additions this year - my take on the chapter with some Terminators from the ) I finished them on stream on @ (www.twitch.tv/BigDaddyRico89) the other day and I'll keep alternating between mini streams and gaming streams.
Point of this to a) be proud of my brain for not being completely useless after the accident and b) be proud of my efforts despite yes I didn't drill the gun hole, I know! I've lost my drill 🤣 c) share a hobby of mine with the wider community and d) spread awareness of safety at work. Just because it might not affect you, does not mean it won't affect someone else. Be safe.

**Long Post**
So over the past year I've been suffering from a lot of bad injuries and a downward spiral mentally. A few months ago - a few mates and the beautiful .hayes.twitch got me into streaming - and while I don't take it fully seriously (yet?) - it's allowed me to let my neurospicy brain go all out. Shout out to all my streamer homies and peeps!
I can be stupid and say s**t before I can process it and make puns while playing games of all kinds. I can do a music stream where people chill and listen to me make a song from scratch on and vibe with it. I can do a lighting production plan and set up in MagicQ and explain how much work goes into planning for events and productions from audio, to music, to lighting, to the more admin s**t.
Unfortunately - some medical issues may hinder my continuing career as a Live Sound Engineer.....but now I have my eyes on other goals! I'm currently chasing down to path to starting my PhD! I want to go more into Production for creative (making original Music, shooting Photos and Videos and editing). And now I can do all that while Streaming and letting my brain do a crazy 🤣
