Time's running out on concept inspiration.

Share a pic of 1-3 of your favorite creature capture mons from ANY genre/game and tell us why you love them.

Please expand if there is a disign style you would like to see that has never been done before.

We are currently in talks with larger experienced Developers to aid us in bringing this all together as we are determined to bring out something quality OR nothing rather than a cash grab.

Idea suggestion time:
Long term PVP: how could we balance battles for high level players vs lower level? We know about level caps and so on. But perhaps there are some great ideas out there that have not been done before.

Capturing mechanics: Recently I saw a game that uses cards to capture and summon (instead of Pokeballs) we are going with unique items/weapons. Pending the legalities of the Nintendo legal issue with monopolosing creature capture mechanics.

At the moment for development we are trying to ensure the foundation is solid. IE having code in place so that it is not a total nightmare to impliment other features later. (Multiplayer, world construction, deeper NPC character development etc) as we want the universe we are building to be forever expanding, Not a good game cash grab and then be forgotten and just have 50 sequel clones with little improvements later. *Cough-cough* ;)

If we can make it so that the foundation is so solid that expansions and free updates are something we can do long term, we 100% will. The game launching in a more affordable state as a thank you to all those who never gave up on us will be the best approach.

Anyway, please share your original ideas.
How some mechanics would / could work.
Things you've never seen done before, but you think would be good. I don't believe in bad ideas, because they will get us closer to the best ones.

In January - February we intend to launch a new page with the official game name that will be showcasing our Mons each week with fresh designs. (this won't take away from any other progress and will allow our mons to build some love and consistent feedback while development continues.)

Imagine just making better quality games instead of hindering others?

Yesterday we went to the QLD Games expo.

What a great event! Many new and upcoming games and a sea of passionate developers and lovers of the industry.

Woke up at 5am, almost 2 hours driving and it was well worth it!

We set out with a goal of getting useful info and contacts and we definitely achieved that.

Side note: If you know any passionate, skilled Game Devs, Programmers or anyone who works in the industry who is willing to travel to the Gold Coast (maybe Brisbane) please let us know.

Good evening from Australia everyone! (TLDR at the bottom)

We are posting a lot of updates lately! Thanks for your time, input and patience. It's GENUINELY helping.

As many of you know, we started fresh. New game world and new creatures. Just to get us going. (The original game is NOT off the table) But as many of you know, I am a perfectionist and REFUSE to cash grab on crowd funding and not deliver on promises.
(Games like No Mans Sky got there eventually, but I just can't do that to this community.)

Right now I'm bleeding myself dry on concept after concept. Because myself and the team want to nail the creature style. We have a lot of cool ones. But then there's always something to question.

At this stage it's the faces. At first I went heavy on the more serious looking creatures, but oddly enough the uniqueness wasn't there. Looked incredibly cool. But felt like a beast from any random DND quest. Does that make sense?

I actually do think the somewhat anime look works, it gives them more personality. I want all the creatures to be memorable, so if you want that Mon to feel like your homie, he sure as heck will.

The TLDR of it is:

To increase the chances of us getting things right from the start, we are considering doing a design competition where our followers, supporters and even graphic design gods just wanting to flaunt their raw skill, can contribute their designs and concepts.

We can do it for fun, or a competition with prizes and every piece will be shared and happy for you to stamp your own website/portfolio on the image you submit which will be shared on this page. We may do a paid promotion so it reaches more people.

Single Evolution trees like Squirtle > Wartortle Blastoise.
Charmander > Charmeleon > Charizard.
Pichu > Pikachu > Raichu.
Gastly > Haunter > Gengar.

Or

Evee > Flareon/Jolteon/Vaporeon/Leafeon/Umbreon etc

The reason we ask is because we are considering different elemental varients. It could be more work and that's why most creature capture games don't do it. But if we start that way we can build up over time. Especially with crowd funding milestones.

Hi everyone!

Here are some updates on the longest awaited non-cash grab game ever.

We are considering some kind of Kickstarter. But before that, what we are looking into is releasing a very minor version of the game as we are going from scratch. We are reconsidering our creature style and many other things as what Palworld has achieved legally has a been quite a surprise! Which has opened up a lot of possibilities. Going forward how we proceed will open up the doors for you all to have input that can still be considered. We may even have creature mash up rounds where people can vote or even share their own concepts of creatures and characters. Even if you want to do A.I gen and you find one you think would suit our world perfectly.

To be clear though: We intend to make a demo test-game with limited creatures at first. This will show some small world exploration mechanics with a mixture of battles and capturing creatures.

Currently we are tossing up between launching that for free or with a small fee to support the work going forward. If you have ideas on how this could or should work, you are more than welcome to share! This past year I have been saving money from my regular 9-5 job in hopes to give it another good kick off and fullfill one of my dreams and promises to you all.

Please remember, this is not a cash grab otherwise I (Brian) would have launched a Crowd funding game 10 years ago when we were blowing up in little news articles etc. So far I would be happy getting together what is needed to make the game a reality and then just celebrate whatever follows. As you may have read about in one of my previous posts.

If you haven't read my previous posts, it's simply delayed due to health, mental health and personal life challenges.

Also, Fabled Apps is rebranding.
I have another page that I created during Covid lockdowns called Big Kid Nation which will be the name of our Game Development company going forward. It's not presented well yet, but most of the news and idea brain storming will be shared there in future.

Fyi - all the inbox messages are very welcome! But if I don't reply for a while please do not take it personally. Eventually you will see that I am full steam back in to development and will dedicate time t to replying to everyone.

Game goals:
1. The first iteration of the game will be 2D, similar to that of Stardew Valley and Suikoden 2.
2. Focussed on an older audience with some dark themes, but will try make it kid friendly as well. But by no means will this game be toned down for younger audiences.
3. There will be tournements similar to that of the Badge collecting and the Pokemon league.
4. There will also be a main story, that has nothing to do with rising to championship glory. But more about hard and dark times in the world that you will have the option to help with.
5. Turn based battles are on the table, however we have many concepts of non-turn based or semi-turn based battles.
6. The capture system will be done via a special gauntlet on your wrist, plus other weapons and tools.
7. Your Hero will be able to partake in combat and level up himself (the plan since day 1)

Additionally, we would like branch stories and modes where you play as different classes, such as one who does not capture creatures but is a fully fledged warrior themself. But this will be a stretch goal.

Lastly, we are also looking into ways to make the game one huge game. Rather than releasing number 2, 3, 4 and 5. We may consider endless expansions, but are unsure of the limitations of this.

Oh and one thing I personally want to do the most is a bloodline mode. Because I remember the days where I would play the hell out of a Pokemon game and start over again and again. But in this case I would like to implement a feature where you can have a child and do a second, third forth run through championship mode and you have a family record which shows a shot of each player you played as and their main team and playthrough stats. (Wins/losses catches etc etc) and overall stats.

^^^^ These are things I didn't want to share before the game was actually public, but you all deserve to know.

Also considering some kind of basic construction mode. (Inspired by Palworld) But perhaps not in depth, but you never know what the future will hold.
