Our Story
Inala Indigenous Health Service,Centre of Excellence is a Queensland Health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Located in Inala, 18 km South West of Brisbane CBD, our clinic is staffed by GPs, nurses, allied health and Aboriginal health workers, and visiting medical specialists.
We also provide health-related services at a community level, and our research team is dedicated to finding and publishing evidence about how to improve the health of our patients. Our service has won numerous awards and our Clinical Director Dr Noel Hayman was Queensland's nominee for Australian of the Year in 2011.
In late 2017 Stage two of our Centre was opened this brought our entire team together into one location where previously staff were spread over three sites. Having access to extra space has enabled us to increase our available services and streamline current services. We are currently in the process of building a Gym which will enable us to run our own fitness and rehabilitation programs. We also have a multi-purpose room with a large kitchen and seating area filled with audio visual equipment, which is great for holding training, cooking groups and community events.
We are currently scoping stage three which will potentially include Dental Services and other specialist clinics..so watch this space.
