It’s about slowing down enough to notice you exist.

Yoga can help with that. Meditation, gentle movement, connection with others...help yourself breathe deeper and have quality sleep.

Incorporate:
- Pause
- Notice your surroundings
- Bring awareness to the weight of your feet
- How does your breath move through you?

Awareness away from your yoga mat and meditation space is when your yoga journey begins.

You may be right ✅️ I may be crazy 🤪 doing hyrox after heartbreak, car accident, car write off, anxiety hitting, no tansport (still no car).. But this is a reminder you can do hard things in life. Mentally, physically and emotionally.

It's not a bad life and things will improve in time. You're allowed to feel grief and sadness, you are not weak, lack faith, naive, emotional, mentally unstable. I'll die on a hill saying its ok to feel your grief and sadness. So many people want to bypass this feeling/ experience and ignore reality. I'm not saying drown in it, but to acknowledge and feel it, get support when you need and in time, sadness will pass.

💙 You can do hard things.

💙 this is a reminder to acknowledge hardship and grieve when life doesn't go your way and feel how you feel when s**t hits the fan. It's a natural and human response. You're not weird or ungrateful or a bad person to feel disappointed.

💙 this is also a reminder to count and celebrate the good things in life. There is plenty good in the world.

💙 you are beautiful and deserve joy and peace.

🌎 when I had the car accident, so many strangers came to help me and lots of help around. 🙏🏽

Lovely to see yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ crew again today after time away.

Class was around 🔥 bringing the heat and fire. Fiery practice (I must be feeling a bit fired up after hyrox recently 🤔 😆)...however we don't keep the fire burning all practice. Part of yoga is bringing this fire into balance with cooling poses and practices. Yoga has a yang element - fiery and active part of practice. Plus yin ☯️ part of practice to rest and restore. We need both yin and yang energy in yoga, life, work, relationships...you may find you naturally lean one way.

For anyone at home practicing...this is what we did and you can also practice:

Grounding breathwork
Pranayama
Cat and cow
Warm up wrists/hands/shoulders
Surya A x 2
Surya B x 2
Supported side plank pose
Side plank
3 legged Downward dog + variation fallen triangle
Warrior 2, Shanti warrior, extended side angle, half moon
Malasana/squat/variation: arm balance
Bridge
Waterfall pose/shoulders stand
Supported twist release
Happy baby
Savasana

Yoga is not about touching your toes. It’s about touching your nervous system with kindness. We don't need you to be a zen like Goddess either. No performing here. ;=) Only meeting yourself. Especially if you’ve been wanting to try yoga but felt intimidated, this course is your safe entry point. And your time is now.

Thank you amazing 👏🏽 Karin for being my epic doubles partner! I would not have gotten through this without you. It's been heaps of fun (hectic fun and lots of sweat) at Anchor ⚓️ gym with the crew. What a supportive and kind group of people. 🙏🏽💖

For anyone new to hyrox (like me), you start with a 1km run followed by station of activities e.g. burpees, then 1km run. Repeat 8 x to complete 8 stations of work and 8km run! Tf! Your girl is still limping around the place, lactic acid hitting hard and happy to have completed it.

This is your reminder ... you can do hard things physically and mentally...even if it takes you a bit longer!
