We all need a soft place to land.

talks about taking off your armour. Our current lifestyles can mean we are hyper alert and aware...

We need people and places, habits and routines to bring us home to ourselves and b.r.e.a.t.h.e and take your/our armour off.

Staying in an activated system and switched 'on' all the time can lead to burnout and heightened stress.

Find those places that help you to breathe and calm your mind, your heart ❤️

This is what July has been about for us in class....grounding. The weekend is here. Find your people and places where you can take your armour off, reset, ground, ready for action new day. 💕

Here are some of my places where I can remove my walls a bit...
- On the yoga mat

- Having a warm drink feels like a hug for someone who runs cold 🥶

- My comfy old car. It's been my companion for decades!

My new website has launched 🌟

I've been chipping away at rejigging my website and thanks to Katie .au it went live today! Yay.

If you have a body - you have a yoga body and CAN practice yoga. Yoga is not only beautiful poses! It's breathwork, stillness and finding what you need beyond the physical practice to support you in your daily life.

The images need updating tho!! I don't look quite the same as 5/6 years ago! (More grey hair and perimenopause weight - which i gracefully accept. See? Yoga makes you accept things like ageing. Lol.)

Your girl here is getting shoulder strength back, slowly and very gratefully 🙏🏽 hopefully another 6 months and be able to do pullups properly.

My physio said I need to develop muscles between my shoulder blades and core/belly to support my joints. So I'm doing all the things. Lol.

On another note....I signed up to become a group fitness instructor! Fingers 🤞 crossed I stay focused and complete training by Dec 25. You may notice a bit more fitness content on here in addition to yoga.

What are your goals and intentions for rest of the year? What quality would you like to bring into the rest of 2025? Now is the perfect time to set intentions and tell someone and write it down. This all helps to solidify your intentions and also hold you accountable as your brain 🧠 works towards achieving your ❤️'s intention.

Feeling overwhelmed with end of financial year (I keep seeing EOFY messages everywhere! lol)?

Feeling foggy and like brain is still waking up?

Pop in for some yoga.

Declutter and calm your mind.

If you can't make it to yoga classes, carve out 5 - 10 minutes at home for some breathing exercises, meditation, reset, cat and cow shapes to release your spine. Even a few minutes of concius breathing and stretching is better than nothing.

See you next financial year! ;-))

Side note: I used to work in corporate advertising for a car manufacturer in Canada over 10 years ago and EOFY was a big deal for us, and it was a big sales period! Also, very stressful and made me embrace my yoga practice more cos I was so burnt out!

💛 Throughout June, classes have been around balance! 💛 Physically, emptionally and mentally!

💛 From a physical/asana standpoint, we have had a particular focus on shapes and poses like side plank/vasisthasana.

💛 This shape involves stacking shoulders of your palm that is planted into the mat. Strong core through front belly and back muscles and legs are switched on extended with feet pressing on the floor.

💛 You can either have both legs extended or the variation is to have a supporting knee on the mat....which is the beautiful part of yoga.

💛 There is something for everyone! Whether that is the physical practice or meditation practice or perhaps yogic philosophy and research that you are drawn to...

💛 Ask your yoga teachers for support or if you need to explore different options based on energy levels or injuries or pregnancies for example...there is an option available for you.

Whenever I whip out these tennis balls in class, some students are excited and some complain! Lol. This is your reminder...tennis balls are your friends. Particularly if you don't have a personal massage therapist! You can place the tennis balls under tight muscles, e.g. calf muscles/lower legs, lower back and settle for 5 minutes or so. Your body weight and subtle movements can help to release tight muscles.

Something to consider - tennis balls are your friend. 🤗🤗
