Thank you for another wonderful term with your beautiful little cherubs (we’re nearly there!). I always find term 3 to be the most taxing on everyone 😅. It’s so nice to see the sun out now (mind the magpies!) and hopefully the end of all the winter bugs.

•Book Week 🐛 🦋 •

I have a love/hate relationship with Book Week. I love everything about talking about books and instilling a love of reading in our little people. Books open up doors to places we’ve never been, they give us knowledge and cool new words to learn and set up our preschoolers for success with literacy- there is so much to love about books!

Research shows children that are read to are exposed to thousands more words by the time they hit school, than those who aren’t. We love books!

BUT… I’m not the crafty Mum that makes the amazing outfits - if it was a bake sale, I’d be all over it, but creating crafted outfits is not my thing. One of my kids is going in his footy gears 🏉 , one is a fairy with clothes out of the dress up box 🧚,and one found a random handed down giraffe onesie in his sisters wardrobe that fitted the brief 🦒 (even though it doesn’t actually fit the kid- the legs are up to his knees). Everyone is happy, job done.

Just a reminder, you don’t need to be that crafty mum, and you definitely don’t need to feel bad that your kid is in the store bought costume they’ve used for the past 2 years, Book Week celebrations are about just that, celebrating books. If you’ve enjoyed sharing a book with your child a few times this week, that’s a win in my eyes.

100 percent behind our Teachers. Thank you for all you do. You deserve better.

Today, Queensland teachers are taking strike action to call for fair pay, safer working conditions, and better resources including a plan to get more teachers. (read this bit carefully- this is about more than just money)

We know how much heart and dedication teachers bring to our children every day, and we stand with them as they work towards a stronger, safer future for education in Queensland.

•Harmony Week 2025•

Harmony week is the celebration that recognizes our diversity and brings together Australians from different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging.

Did you know more than half of Australian residents were born overseas or have at least one parent who was? My family included!

My husband and I moved here 17 years ago from New Zealand 🇳🇿 . Our four little cherubs were all born in Australia, but are New Zealand citizens (by descent). Just this year our eldest cherub became a dual Australian/New Zealand citizen, which he is very proud of.

Today my children’s school is celebrating Harmony Day with orange dress or cultural clothes. I’ve worn orange today too! My three cherubs at primary school wore their NZ tshirts today with pride. We are proud of our background, but also so grateful to live in such a beautiful country with our very special community of friends 🫶 🇦🇺.

I checked the clinic today (via .coffeewine - for coffee, not wine!) and it was fine aside from a loss of internet, which we can work with! Looking forward to seeing you back in clinic from tomorrow, Tuesday 11th March 🤍☔️.
